Lose access when switching to Chrome

<div class="IPBDescription">Switiching preference from Firefox to Chrome</div>I've changed 1Password preference from Firefox to Google Chrome. I installed the Google Chrome extension.

Now when I click on one of my previously functioning 1Password logins, it doesn't work. Sometimes I go to a different-than-login page. Sometimes I go to the login page and it even inserts user name and password but I have to click on the login button.

Do I have to reinsert user name and password to use 1Password with Google Chrome? I hope not.

Welcome to the forums, Dave! Google Chrome is a great browser. Our Chrome extension is a bit different from our Firefox extension, though, since there are limitations to the Chrome's extensions API which we have to work within.

You can actually use both extensions if you like. Just leave Firefox checked in preferences. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

The same Login items you have save in 1Password work in both Firefox and Chrome, though. There is no need to re-save them unless you have saved the wrong data to begin with. It sounds like you may have saved a different login page for some of your login items than what you are expecting. The easiest thing to do if you are having trouble with a particular login is to re-save it manually. Unfortunately, our Chrome extension does not yet support manually saving a login from within the browser, so you will need to do this from within Firefox:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and choose Save Login.

    3. Set the Action field to Create New Login (or to Replace <login-name>, to update an existing Login item).

    4. Click the Save button.

The new login URL, username, and password will all be saved to 1Password and available to you from within Chrome where you can use the login by pressing ⌘\ on your keyboard or clicking 1Password's key icon in Chrome's toolbar while you are viewing the login page.

Unfortunately, the Chrome extension does not support Go & Fill from outside of Chrome. That is, if you double-click an item in the main 1Password application window, it will only take you to the URL. It will not fill anything. To use Go & Fill from within Chrome you can use the ⌥⌘\ keyboard shortcut or click the All Logins tab in the extension pop-up.

I hope that helps. Please let me know.
