Southwest.com

<div class="IPBDescription">...and yes, I searched :)</div>Hey guys,

Thanks for such a rad product! I've heard a lot about it, but after getting Firesheep'd at SXSW, decided it was time to jump on board. So far, things are 99.9% great.

I'm having a problem with the Southwest.com Rapid Rewards Login.

- tried deleting my Login from 1P

- tried recreating the Login via Firefox (4, x64, OSX)

- tried manually adding the Login via 1P

- tried using the template posted to the 1P forums

It's currently entering my Rapid Rewards ID, but the password field is staying blank.

Attached is my Login screenshot (id and password changed) with field names and type unmodified.

Lil help, please?

Thanks!

    Welcome to the forums, malbiniak!

Sorry to hear you were "Firesheeped," but I'm glad you are using 1Password now! 1Password can certainly help with exploitations related to password reuse, but also be sure you are using a secure connection (SSL on public Wi-Fi or personal hotspot feature on your iPhone or MiFi).

Anyway, it looks like the Southwest Rapid Rewards login does behave strangely only in Firefox. I can get it to fill properly in Safari and Chrome, so the good news is that once we port the newer form filling code from Chrome, all will be well. I don't have a time frame for a specific release, but in the mean time try this:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and choose Save Login.

    3. Set the Action field to Create New Login (or to Replace <login-name>, to update an existing Login item).

    4. Click the Save button.

Manually saving a login can be useful for logins that are either problematic to begin with or were once working but have since stopped. Doing this allows 1Password to refresh everything it "knows" about the page. Login pages often change as websites are updated and this can be a necessary but very useful tip. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

Please also edit the login and change the Submit value from "If Autosubmit is ON" to "Never." This works on a lot of sites which modify the form before submitting it or are looking for a literal key press or mouse click. This will give you the chance to actually give them what they are looking for by submitting the form yourself rather than allowing 1Password to do it on your behalf.

Although, on this particular site — here's where it gets strange — in Firefox, try pressing ⌘\ on your keyboard to fill the login, but press it three times. That should (1) fill the username, (2) focus the username, and then (3) fill the password.

I can't begin to speculate offhand why this is such a way in Firefox, but once you do that, you should be able to click the "Log In" button to be whisked away to your Southwest Rapid Rewards account. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

Again, this will eventually be resolved in Firefox (once it gets our latest form filling code from our Chrome extension), but that is a workaround for now.

This is the URL I used for testing:

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Thanks!

    Aww, and I was just starting to like Firefox 4 <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

...but, your tips worked. To remedy it, I manually entered my reward id and password, manually saved it through 1Password, updated submit option, and combo'd ⌘\ three times. For good measure, I rubbed my head while patting my belly. It worked.

    Thanks for the help!
