Sun Java System Access Manager
<div class="IPBDescription">1Password spawns error</div>My employer uses a number of Web apps that are front-ended by a Sun Java System Access Manager login facility. Using 1Password in the same way that works for any other username plus password combination spawns an "Authentication Exception due to incorrect handler" message from the Access Manager. Any clues on how to get around this issue?
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere; I couldn't find it in the knowledgebase.

Welcome to the forums, sunman42!
I'm sorry that you are having this trouble. Could you provide a publicly available URL in order that we might take a closer look? Is the login using Java? Which browser are you using?
Please let me know. I'd love to help get to the bottom of this. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />Flag 0 -

Sadly, it's on a company (federal government agency) Intranet, so I can't provide a public URL. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_sadsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-(' />
I'm using Firefox 4.0, but get/got the same results with 3.5 and 3.6. I'd try Chrome or Safari, but the IT geniuses your tax dollars pay for refuse to support those (just IE on Windows and Firefox on OS X).
I'm attaching a section of the source of the login page (scrubbed to remove references to the actual agency), with Javascript, that does the authentication. Don't know if it will be of any help.
Thanks very much for looking at this.Flag 0 -

Looks like I missed one more button to attach source file. Here it is.Flag 0 -
Thanks for posting that, sunman42.
I took a look at the source and it appears to contain two separate forms. This may require auto-submit disabled for the login. (Edit the item in 1Password and change the Submit value from "If Autosubmit is ON" to "Never.") Without an actual account (or even an actual server) to test, I can't say for sure.
However, it only appears to be working in Chrome which is using our very latest form filling code. You can try it yourself in Chrome at home if you are curious.
I don't have a time frame for when the code from our newer Chrome extension will make its way back to our Safari and Firefox extensions, but this is certainly our plan.
I wish I had better news in the short term, but I think a future release will resolve this for you.
I'm surprised you are allowed to use 1Password on a system so locked down! (But I'm glad you can!)
EDIT: No data is being collected from that cloned pseudo-login page, but you should probably not enter any actual usernames or passwords just as a precaution. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />Flag 0
