Password problem - urgent

I was resetting the password on a Knox vault this morning - I had 1Password open - generated a password - copied it into Knox and then copied it into the note in 1Password. I closed Knox, and went back to 1Password and the new password was gone, and an error message had popped up. I now can no longer access this particular vault, crucial to my business. Assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Welcome to the forums, Jonathan. I'm terribly sorry you are having this problem.



    Unless you hit the "Cancel" button in 1Password's built-in Strong Password Generator, the password should be saved in the Generated Password section in 1Password (Preferences > General > Display in Sidebar > Generated Passwords).



    Additionally, you should be able to restore from a backup vault in Knox if necessary by clicking "Restore" in Knox's menu.

    Yes, the password was not stored in the generator, unfortunately. I ended up just going to the backup disk and pulling off the most recent sparsebundle (which opened without the need for any password). Backup was a few days old, but better than nothing. Panic averted. Thank you. I wonder why the backup can be opened without the need for a password?
