As much fun it is to move the mouse up to the or "Fill", is there a keyboard shortcut to zap that info into those boxes?

    You betcha!

You can use the default ⌘\ to fill a login and ⌥⌘\ to pop up the Go & Fill HUD. Or set your own keyboard shortcuts (Preferences > Logins)! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

In Safari, you can use ⌥⇧⌘1, ⌥⇧⌘2, etc. to fill Identities.

We have a few more keyboard tricks in our Chrome extension as well.

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Cheers!

There is indeed, for filling your saved Login items you can use the Command + \ keyboard shortcut which will either fill your saved Login item if you just have a single item saved for the site you're on or you'll be presented with a list of saved Logins if you have multiple Login items saved for that site.

As far as I'm aware, there aren't keyboard shortcuts for filling credit card and identity items yet, though this may be something we look into, though it's hard to find shortcuts that don't conflict with existing browser shortcuts.

    Hope that helps,
  • It would be very useful having a shortcut for copying username and one for password.

I work very often with ftp clients and ssh-terminal, so for example filling a form in cyberduck with shortcut mentioned before ( let's suppose cmd+b and cmd+c) would look like :

(Suppose we are in 1password )

    cmd+b (copy username)

    cmd+tab (switch to cyberduck )

    cmd+v ( paste username )

tab ( move to password field )

    cmd+tab ( switch back to 1password ... macosx orders tabs this way pop-push beautiful <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> )

    cmd+c ( copy password)

    cmd+tab( back to cyberduck)

    cmd+v( paste password )

    return ! done

I can perform this in more or less 3-5 secs , using the mouse to click over copy doubles the time ... considering that I do this operations about 30-50 times a day for at least 200 days/years ... I would gain up to 14 hrs ... almost 2 working days in a year ... yup not bad ... <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Sadly I can't find theese two shortcut in 1password ... am I missing something ? Do you plan to introduce it ?
  • Hi KAM,

At the moment we don't have specific shortcuts for copying the username and password of an item separately, and using just command+c will copy the currently selected item.

I'm not sure if this is something we could implement, but we do have some ideas for how we could make it possible to fill your details within Cyberduck itself. They're very much on the drawing board right now, so no timeframes or any more details are available, but this is something we'd love to implement.

    Thanks for your feedback.

The answer is a program called Quicksilver in combination with the 1Password plugin for Quicksilver. Then you can search for all your 1Password logins. For example, I have an account at Amazon UK. I bring up QS with command+space, type "ama" (QS is intelligent so I dont have to write the whole name) and press enter. Safari opens Amazon UK in a new tab and fills the login and password. You can also create your own shortcuts if you dont want to bring up QS and type the name of the login. On my computer I just press "command + alt + u" and 1Passwords opens Amazon UK in a new tab and fills the login and password. Very simple.

And even without the 1Password plugin it is possible to access to the menu objects with Quicksilver, like "Show logins", "Login with 1Password" and "Fill with identity". So I just have to type "pas" and QS know that I want to fill the login.

Edit: you can find QS at http://qsapp.com/. There you also find the 1Password plugin.

    It is free and open-source.

    Welcome to the forums, Xe997!

Thanks for the tip! While it will only work to Go & Fill web Logins, it is certainly helpful. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
