Incomplete sync on Android

newbietoo
edited April 2011 in Android
I have 1Password on 2 X Windows PC and an Android (HTC Desire) and am syncing via Dropbox

I have about 300 logins, of which only 114 are syncing to the HTC.

By way of troubleshooting, I essentially started over. I removed the keychain from my PC Dropbox folder (which removed it from the HTC) and uninstalled 1P from the HTC. I then put the keychain back in the dropbox folder and reinstalled 1P on the HTC. That didn't work so I did it again, this time uninstalling/reinstalling Dropbox as well. Still no difference.

On every sync, the same 114 logins (124 files) turn up in the phone with a 'Success' message.

On checking the # files in the keychain data\default folder with a File Manager, I note that on both PC's it shows 389, but on the HTC it only shows 125.

I have tried both having 1P login direct to Dropbox and having it access the file direct on the SD Card.

Finally, I logged in using the HTML page and it shows 114 logins too, so it seems Dropbox may not be downloading all files; does it have a limit?

So do I maybe have a Dropbox problem? If so, is there a workaround or an alternative approach?

Has anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Patrick

    OK, so the mystery deepens...

I removed Dropbox from the HTC and am now using 'Titanium Media Sync' to sync the keychain and I have confirmed all 390 files have come across to the HTC, So when I start 1P it should show 389 logins right? Wrong...It still only shows those same 114 from before!

I've run out of ideas so would really appreciate some help

    Thanks

    Hello Patrick,

If you don't see on your phone an item you've created on 1Password for Window, please open

contents.js file located in <%YOUR_DROPBOX_LOCATION%>/1Password.agilekeychain/data/default folder on our PC

and examine how many items are listed in it.

If there is a discrepancy in number of items you see on your Android phone and on your computer, your keychain (1Password Data File ) may be corrupted and you need to rebuild it using "Rebuild Data File" option on your Mac/PC. (rebuilding makes all items written to context.js file).

Another way is to rename contents.js file located in <%YOUR_DROPBOX_LOCATION%>/1Password.agilekeychain/data/default folder on our PC and then repair your keychain. This should re-create a contents.js file with correct list of items.

It doesn't really matter if you place a keychain file (folder) on phone's SD card or use Dropbox sync.

Once contents.js file is in sync with actual number of files in your keychain, they will all be visible on the phone.

Please let me know if you find the information helpful.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Gene
