How to enable and disable Smart Links
<div class="IPBDescription">and Data Detectors</div>Has the 'Secure Notes' section of 1password been changed so that email addresses automatically become hyperlinks (or mailto: links)?
I have a secure note where I keep a list of email addresses, but I do not want them to be links. How can I prevent this?
Thanks.

Curious why it matters to you if email addresses have hyperlinks. For me, overall, it's more convenient if they're always there than never. I'd rather use 'em when I want to and avoid 'em when I don't, but no doubt it can make copying/pasting trickier with the latter.Flag 0

This is not a 1Password setting but is actually controlled by OS X.
Ctrl-click in the text area and then select "Substitutions" and make sure that "Smart Links" are not enabled.

You can select "Show Substitutions" for a nice little panel that shows you all your settings which, while controlled by OS X, are set per application.

This is a lesser known feature, and I couldn't find a definitive resource on it, but Google turns up a lot of neat tips and tricks with a simple search for "Mac OS X substitutions."
Please let me know how it turns out.

I've been using the iphone app for 2 years. We finally moved over to macbooks and I now have 3 different password managers I'm testing out on the macbook and I've been reading through reviews all over the place. Overall I am happy with 1password on the phone, and the difference in cost of the options is not really an issue, but I'm stuck with a basic functionality issue.
Why can't I simply click a phone number in 1password on the phone and have it automatically place a call?

Hello fishandfly and welcome to the Forums!
Thank you for considering 1Password while you evaluate different password managers. I also read through many reviews before deciding on 1P, and once I came here, I never left!
Of course, the decision was not made quickly, and it all came down to what I valued the most, personally. We may desire different functionalities, and I can completely understand if you decide to choose another solution. At the end of the day, you need to be happy. I hope 1P is your choice, but there are other alternatives that may suit you better.
Regarding your two questions:
Why can't I simply click a phone number in 1password on the phone and have it automatically place a call?
Your question has come up before: Calling from within 1Password As Mike states in his response, it is something that we are looking at in the future, but it is not available now. I'm sorry, but I do not have any additional information to provide regarding future inclusion with 1P's applications.

You can click on a link within all Mac applications (desktop/laptop/iOS) and go to the page. Would you please provide the steps you are taking to attempt this? I am confident that you will be happy once you are able to access this functionality.
I look forward to hearing back from you with more details!
Cheers!

My guess is that fishandfly is referring to Secure Notes rather than Login items. You can enable this on a per-app basis in Mac OS X. I merged your post with the existing thread for this. Please see above and let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
