migrating Mac to Win7 how

I did an export from mac 1password but on attempting to import to the win7 1pass app (it could see the pif fileok) it did not import anything.



is this the right procedure?



Should this method import securenotes too (this is all I have in the mac - no logins).

Hi Davo,



You can copy your .agilekeychain to Windows, and then open it from there.



Or (even better), you can put your .agilekeychain "under Dropbox control". After you have installed Dropbox on both your Mac and Windows, there's button in 1Password preferences that will copy your .agilekeychain to Dropbox. From here on, every new login that you'll add on Mac will appear in Windows (and vice versa). Thanks to Dropbox, everything is always "in sync".

It's not so difficult, at all. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> It's just that 1Password for Windows currently has very limited import and export capability. I hope we'll improve and enhance import and export in a future release. Fortunately, there are a couple of much better ways to get your data from the Mac to the PC.



As Stefan writes, you can copy your entire 1Password data file from your Mac to your PC (where it will look and act like a folder, by the way). As long as its name ends in [i].agilekeychain[/i], you'll be able to open it from within 1Password for Windows and start using your Logins and other saved items.



If you don't want to keep using 1Password for Mac, that's a perfectly reasonable way to do a [i]one-time[/i] migration.



If you plan to [i]continue[/i] using 1Password on both the Mac and the PC, though, you'll be much better off sharing and sync'ing your 1Password data between them using Dropbox, as described in the following documents.

can someone tell me in plain english the steps required?

Perhaps these steps will be clearer:

[*]Launch 1Password for Mac, and look at the Data File field on the General tab of 1Password preferences to find the location and name of your 1Password data file on your Mac.



[*]In the Mac's Finder application, locate that data file, and copy it from your Mac to your PC (where it will become a folder).



[*]Make sure the name of that copied folder ends with [i].agilekeychain[/i] (for example, if it was named [i]1Password[/i] on your Mac, you'd change its name on the PC to [i]1Password.agilekeychain[/i]).



[*]Launch 1Password for Windows, choose [b]File[/b] > [b]Open 1Password Data Folder[/b], and choose the folder you just copied and renamed.
