Vaults on a volume entirely encrypted as a vault

Hey Wassili,
There is no harm in encrypted things twice, but you may see decreased performance and I can't think of a reason it would be necessary. I am curious why you would consider doing this. Maybe I am missing out on something. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
Please let me know. Thanks!Flag 0 -

Hi Khad,
Thanks for the answer. It seems there really is no need to do this. I was working on different backup options with fully encrypted clones, and I have several Knox vaults on my hard drive. I wanted to clone my hard drive to a fully encrypted external hard drive that was formatted with Knox. I know, it won't be bootable, but I have a system clone that is bootable on another drive with just the bare minimum folders and files required to boot. In a recovery situation where I need to replace my internal hard drive with a new one, once I boot the system from a bootable partition with just the bare minimum system folders, can I then use a fully formatted Knox drive where my system was cloned to clone it back to the new internal drive?
Regards,

Hm. I want to make sure I am reading everything correctly — it sounds very complicated <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> — but I think the best way to be sure that it works is to test it. No backup strategy is worth anything if you cannot restore. I believe it should work, but only firsthand experience can verify such an important process. I have to say I have not tested such a scenario before.
Please let me know what you discover with a trial restoration!Flag 0
