Love 1P But...

I purchased 1password for Mac after trial. I'm in technical field and very detailed oriented. So, I stuck with it to figure out how it works....Guys & gals, the features are great but please focus a lot more on the ease of use for non-techies. It's not intuitive and the help files are not much better. Yeah, I figured it out but it took way too long! The average consumer is not going to be as patient. You have a great product(s) but marketing, ease of use, barriers to use is really what drives sells.

And the product branding is getting out of control. really. I'm not saying it's the most straight forward solution to be offered but the sheer number of product titles , integrated with browser x or y with different features I'm sure is already frustrating to ur dev team....if you buy pro on the iPad how do you get it on your iPhone without paying again? Shoulnt it be a note about how it relates to other products and what u should do based on the category of user u r???? I guess if you just want folks who already understand how to set it up or, like me, will spend an hour or two searchingbyour forums or google to figure it out, you r good.

If the product branding is out of control and ur working a strategy, at least hire a ux designer to design help documentation that's effective. Screenshots with some commentary is not the panacea! Thought has to go into placement, audiences, training theory, etc.,etc.

You have great product, good functionaliy, marketing hype....if ur going to get to the next level ahead of competition, you really need to put some focus on things in addition to coding....that will only get you so far....

Finally, again, I'm a paying member and I love the product. I've been in it development my entire career and it's my fav pet peeve for techies to think a cool feature is all that matters...

I have Mac/windows version, and pro. I stopped my search to find out how to get 1password on iPhone. And now how to use it on my iPad. That liyttle browser button doesn't get added...hmmm.

<rant off> still rooting for you guys!!!!

Thanks for the constructive feedback, New2AllThis!

I have passed shared your comments with the rest of the team. We are always striving to improve.

Since you asked some specific questions, I'm going to give some specific answers. I'm not sure if they were rhetorical, but perhaps someone else coming across this thread will find them useful even if you already know the answers.

As with all iOS apps, if you are still using the same iTunes account that you used to purchase the app originally, you will be able to re-download the current version for free on all of your iOS devices. Unfortunately, it won't look like it's free until you choose to "buy" it and enter your password. You don't have to take our word for it though. Here is Apple's official support document:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519

Another thing you can do to make sure that you won't have to pay for the app again is to try adding it to your Wish List in iTunes. If you already own the app, iTunes will tell you, "You have already purchased this item" and that you cannot add it to your Wish List.

In fact, if you simply sync both devices with iTunes on your computer, the app will be synced by default. Cool!

All of our 1Password applications sync to one another and are mainly differentiated by platform. Could you help me understand more what you mean when you use the term "category of user"?

    From our documentation:

Unfortunately, Mobile Safari cannot be extended like Safari on the Mac can. For this reason, we are not able to integrate 1Password right into the browser on iOS. You will not see a 1Password button in the Mobile Safari toolbar.

To optimize your 1Password experience, therefore, we have built a web browser into 1Password for iPhone. When you tap a login item’s URL, 1Password will open the site in the browser and fill the login form.

Learn more about logging into websites with 1Password on your iPhone or iPod touch.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions, comments, or just want to provide more feedback. We really appreciate it. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
