Feature Request: Fill Software License with Identity

<div class="IPBDescription">Licensee profiles/templates</div>Hello,

first things first - thanks for that excellent piece of software ... <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

but while still excellent, it could get improved in my opinion ... <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

I do register all my software tools and gadgets and tend to manage them with 1Password!

normally the Licensee, the eMail, the company, ... the security Level is always the same ...

maybe I did overlook that feature, but I still have to fill out these information every single time

I buy a ~10$ software gadget ...

Would be really helpful if one could store some kind of profile and select that with a single click

just my 2 cents

cheers

K:)

Aw, shucks. You are most welcome. It is our pleasure to work on it and support it. (I think support is actually the most fun, but don't tell the developers.) <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

    Anything worthwhile is worth improving.

Unfortunately, applications save their license "keys" and other related information in numerous ways. 1Password has no way to programmatically locate, read and then populate that data into its Software License. The name and version number are stored in standard ways by each application so we can load that data. Any other data that you wish to store must be filled in by hand at this time.

That being said, the suggestion to store a "template" of data within 1Password has actually been brought up before. I think it is a great idea. I'll nudge the developers on this a bit more. I know they are super busy with some other very cool surprises for all of us, so I can't say when or if it would happen. However, I'm with you on this.

If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

We are always here to help!
  • +1. 1Password should auto-fill licensee information from within the Identity information section. I never quite understood why this wasn't implemented as standard.
