Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) autosubmit trouble

CanoePaddler

<div class="IPBDescription">(was Login button on Rev Canada site not available)</div>When I access my CRA account and have 1P fill my username and pw, the 'Login' control is dimmed until I place my cursor in the pw field, backspace one character and re-type it.

I have double checked my pw so that is not the problem. I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem.

I access this by clicking 'My Account' from the page at http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/menu-eng.html

Thanks for any help

I'm sorry that you are having this problem, CanoePaddler.

I was not able to find a login form at that URL. Do you have the URL for the login page, or could you tell me where I should be clicking to find what you are seeing?

    Please let me know. Thanks!

UPDATE: I clicked "My Account" and then the "Yes" button and was able to reproduce what you are describing. I'll pass this along to the developers to see if we can improve this. In the meantime, it sounds like you already have a workaround. Thanks for reporting this.
  • I am new to 1Password, and am struggling with some of the basics as I try and get my passwords and logins transferred over from my Keychain.

One particular issue I would appreciate some help with is as follows:

I am trying to set up a login to a government website (you already know this is going to be convoluted . . . ), which seems to require a 2-stage login. The first stage (no ID's or passwords, just the URL) just takes me to a Landing Page, where I have to hit a "yes" button to take me to the actual login page itself (trying to go directly to the login page isn't allowed by the site). Once there, I can invoke the second stage and login either myself or my wife from the 1P button in Safari. This all works well except for one thing: the Landing page also has an active Search box, and when the first stage of the login gets there the search is initiated with an empty search string, thus giving an error requiring me to back up the browser. So the question is: Is there any way for the first stage of the login to take me to the Landing page but not activate the Search?

Thanks for any help or pointers.

    Welcome to the Forums macman44!

In order to have a better chance of helping you, would you be willing to share the URL for the website in question? I'm sure with the additional information regarding the website's code, someone will be able to help you.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for the welcome bswins.

I don't see any reason not to share the URL, as it is a public page. It is http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/esrvc-srvce/tx/ndvdls/myccnt/menu-eng.html which is part of the Government of Canada Income Tax department.

    Cheers,

    Paul.
  • Paul,

Thanks for sharing. I know AgileBits wants to resolve every issue possible, and providing the URL will give them the opportunity to see if there is a simple workaround or if program changes are necessary...or even possible (thank's Flash! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />)

I'm sure someone will have an answer for you very soon.

    Cheers!

    I knew this sounded familiar. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />

I merged the these posts with the previous CRA thread. Unfortunately, the situation has not changed much since I made my post above. I will nudge the devs a bit on this, but I do not believe it is a simple fix. Dave and Roustem love a good challenge, though! They are swamped with work for Lion support at the moment, but I can only imagine that as Canadians they deal with this site as well. No promises, but this is definitely on our radar.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you at this time.
