1Password for mac stopped working

<div class="IPBDescription">1Password for mac stopped working</div>Hello,

I have a MacBook Pro with the latest updates, and 1Password stopped working. Whether I access it from the icon on the browser or the application directly, the links do not open. How to trouble shoot this?

Go to Agilewebsolutions.com and download a fresh copy of 1Password and install. Go to Dropbox.com and download and install a fresh copy of the app. If you have taken advantage of the regular 1Password backups, you can restore from a copy. 1Password Backups are located here User>Library>Application Support>1Password>Backups. I relocate my location to MobileMe. Relocating the backups to your Documents file is also a good alternative.

What are the chances of losing any of my 1password files or dropbox files if I install fresh copies? I have many files in both that

    i can't afford to lose.

Zero. Your 1Password keychain is stored separately from the app. This is the case for your Dropbox folder as well; it is stored in your home folder. I have actually updated both of these myself recently, as Dropbox has released a few updates. Let's get this working for you. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

First, uninstall the 1Password extensions. To do so, just follow these steps:

[*] Quit any running web browsers.

[*] Launch 1Password, go to Preferences > Browsers, and click on the button labeled "Remove All Extensions."

Next, follow these steps to install a fresh copy of the 1Password app (don't worry -- your 1Password data is stored separately and will not be affected by this process):

[*] Download the most recent version of 1Password from http://agilewebsolutions.com/downloads

[*] Quit your web browsers and 1Password if it is running.

[*] Drag the newly downloaded version of 1Password to the same location as the previous one (usually Applications) -- replacing it.

Then, reinstall your extensions using these steps:

[*] Launch 1Password and go to Preferences > Browsers, and under Advanced click the appropriate checkboxes to install the extensions for the web browsers you use (Safari, etc.)

[*] Launch your web browsers and verify that the 1Password extensions are working correctly.

Finally, if this still doesn't resolve the issue, please generate a Diagnostics Report to send us. To do this, continue with these steps:

[*] In 1Password, go to Help > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics Report...

[*] Drag the file icon to an email or use Export to save it and attach it manually.

Just attach this to the email when you reply, and be sure to include any other details or screenshots you can as it will help us understand the problem better. You can send it to support@agilewebsolutions.com

Be sure to let us know how it turns out. Hopefully this solved the problem you were having. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thanks for using 1Password! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
