Dropbox and syncing

This is why an alternative method is needed, and precisely why Dropbox (or any cloud based solution) is a non-starter in a corporate environment:

While I suppose there is some security in that the keychain itself is encrypted before upload for 1password, the fact that other data could be uploaded to dropbox from your corporate environment results in an automatic decision to ban use of the service from behind the firewall.

    Hardly a non-starter in [i]all[/i] corporate environments, entr04y; but we can understand why some corporations would choose to prohibit the use of [i]any[/i] technology (including entering or leaving the premises with a USB stick) that might allow transfer of sensitive company information.



    The thing to remember is that, no matter where it's stored, your 1Password data is protected with 128-bit AES encryption:
