Lost data from iPhone while syncing with itunes
I had data on 1password for iPhone. Tried to sync with iTunes and all my apps including 1password got transferred to iIunes. When I transferred 1password back to my phone it seemed to have reset itself. Asked me for new unlock code etc. All my data had gone.
Can someone help with how I can recover it? Much appreciated.

Hi Brookf,
I'm sorry for the trouble here, in theory, backing up your iPhone is all that is required to make sure that you have your 1Password data. In practice, we have found that the iTunes backup and restore process is unreliable for application data, and that is why we include our own backup and restore feature.
If you have your 1Password data synced with 1Password for Mac, or had been using the Dropbox sync method on this device then you can just re-sync your data very easily.
If you made an app-based backup of your 1Password data, you can restore it using the built-in Backup and Restore feature in the 1Password mobile app. If so, please see this section on the help guide on how to back up and restore your data:
http://help.agile.ws/1Password_touch/backup.html
Also, iTunes makes a one time backup of all applications during the sync. You may be able to restore your 1Password data by restoring this backup. Please see this article for more information:
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19512_7-10203174-233.html
Because this iTunes backup is replaced each time you sync with the USB sync/charge cable, you may have to restore a prior copy of the iTunes backups from Time Machine or other backup system you have in place.
Hope that helps,

Thanks a lot.
I had never backed up my 1password data! So tried iTunes restore from a 6 weeks old back-up. It worked! But lost some data that I had inputted since that time, including calender etc.
Nevertheless, delighted with the outcome.
Will ensure that I backup 1password data in future. I use Windows vista on PC, can you tell me what is the best way to backup.

You're very welcome, Brookf, glad to hear the iTunes restore got most of your data back for you.
The easiest way to backup your data is to use 1Password's built-in backup tool by following our guide here:
http://help.agile.ws/1Password_touch/backup.html
Another option is to purchase a copy of 1Password for Windows and then setup Dropbox syncing so that you'll always have your data available on your Windows PC as well as on the iPhone. Since you already own 1Password for your iPhone, please drop us a note at http://agilewebsolutions.com/contact_us and we'll see what we can do about a discount on the Windows version for you.
Of course, the Windows version is available as a 30 day trial from http://agilewebsolutions.com/downloads so you can test things out and setup Dropbox syncing by following our guide here:
http://help.agile.ws/1Password3/cloud_syncing_with_dropbox.html
Even if you do remove 1Password for Windows, your data will still be safe in Dropbox, though please do continue to make regular backups of your data as no online service is 100% reliable.
Please do ask any questions you have, we're happy to help as much as we can <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
