Master Password Reset

<div class="IPBDescription">How To</div>Please forgive my stupidity. I have recently gained possession of a Macbook Pro with 1Password installed, However I dont have the Master Password previously used and therefore i am unable to unlock. On the Agile website it says that you can

Start Fresh With a Brand New Data File (Agile Keychain)

If you need or want to start over with a blank 1Password data file (called a keychain), you can do so easily:

Quit 1Password and all running web browsers.

Use Finder to locate your data file. You can find the location of your data file by looking in the 1Password > Preferences > General window.

If you cannot open 1Password’s Preferences window, try this default locations to find your 1Password data file:

Home > Library > Application Support > 1Password > 1Password.agilekeychain

Rename the data file to something else. For example, you could add “_old” to the file name. You could simply delete the file, but to be safe it is best to rename it and then delete the renamed file once you get everything working.

Start 1Password and follow the setup instructions. A new data file will be created for you automatically after you provide the Master Password you want to use.

However I have followed some of the steps but cant get passed being able to "Rename the data file" (as it does not highlight the file for me to rename)

I am only new to Macs and really am not familiar with there workings. Can someone Please tell me in simple form how to do a complete "Fresh Start" with a new data file (Keychain) so that i can get this bloody thing unlocked................Please Please Please <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

    Welcome to the forums, Jimbo76.

Unfortunately, I was unable to locate your license in our system. We kindly ask that if you are planning to use 1Password you purchase a license of your own or ask the original owner of the MacBook Pro if they would be interested in transferring theirs to you. If you have a license under a different name or email address than you used to sign up for the forums — which is all I had to go on — we would be glad to look it up for you in our system. You can contact me via PM on here or send us an email at support@agilewebsolutions.com where we would be glad to get everything straightened out. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
