1Password for iPhone and 1Password for iPad

<div class="IPBDescription">Back in action! :-)</div>Hello,

how can I purchase 1Password for iPod touch in the German iTunes Store?

Going to http://agilebits.com/downloads/1Password/iPhone eventually leads to http://itunes.apple.com/app/1password-for-iphone/id285897618, which then yields the error message "Der von Ihnen angeforderte Artikel ist zur Zeit nicht im deutschen Store erhältlich." (Translation: The requested article is currently not available on the German store.)

The 1PasswordPro version is available on the store, though, but I don't need (and want) that one.

Thanks,

Christian

  • Maybe I'm missing something, but what happened to the 1password $10 app in the Itunes store? I don't see it anymore. Only the $15 pro version shows up.

I just went to iTunes and searched for "1Password". As happened with you, only 1Password Pro was listed.

However, when typing "1Password" in the iTunes search box, I noticed options for "1Password for iphone" and "1Password for ipad" listed. I clicked on the iphone selection and the following results appeared (see attached pic).

I'm not sure why the stand alone versions did not show up the first time, but you definitely weren't "missing something".

Thanks for posting. AB may wish to figure out why this is happening.

    UPDATE:

I searched again a few minutes ago, and I had a difficult time finding the stand alone versions. Even after finding them, when clicking on either stand alone version I am informed that neither version is available in the U.S. store. (see attached screen shot)

When clicking on the 1Password Pro icon in iTunes and going to the product page, there are no other products listed for AWS. In addition, clicking on the stand alone version links in the AB Store site lead to the same "not currently available in the U.S. store" message.

Perhaps this is due to the recent name change to AgileBits? Regardless, it appears that individuals who do not want to buy the Pro version will not be able to buy a stand alone iPhone or iPad version at this time.

I'll forward to AB support to ensure they are aware.

Thanks again to TC93 for pointing out this issue.

Welcome to the forums, Christian. I'm sorry for the trouble here, everyone.

There have been some changes to 1Password's App Store availability, and I am not sure at the moment when or if the device-specific apps will return. I will look into this further and get back to you all as soon as possible. In the mean time, 1Password Pro, our universal app, is still available.

    Thanks for your patience!
  • I too tried to buy the simple iphone version of 1password but was not able to.

I feel that it ought to be reinstalled in the App Store—I had assumed that after I recently tried, liked, and paid for 1password for the Mac I'd be able to buy the simple 1password version for the iPhone...I bought the Mac version on the assumption that I'd be able to buy the version recommended on the site to pair it with. The Agile site was and is _still_ clear that I don't need the pro version.

It's availability should not be withdrawn without warning and before cleaning up the website so that new purchasers are mislead about what will be available to them once they sign on.

Alternately the pro version should be reduced in price until the website is clarified and new purchasers properly informed

@JohnStJ: I just checked iTunes, and all three versions are available for purchase: Pro/iPhone/iPad. So, you should be able to purchase the iPhone stand alone version.

@TC93: Let me know if you still have problems finding the non-Pro versions.

@kriro: Christian, I checked only the U.S. store. I'd be interested to know if you can purchase the iPhone/iPod touch version in the German store.

Sorry for the trouble folks. As bswins mentioned, all three versions are now available once again in the App Store. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

I've been using 1Password on my MacBook Pro for many years and have 1Password Pro on my iPod touch, however my question is do I need to purchase 1 Password Pro again for a new iPad?

Hello ososinpelo and welcome to the Forums!

As long as you are using the same iTunes account to download the IP Pro app onto your iPad, you will not be charged again.

I purchased my iPad first and bought IP Pro at that time. Only recently, did I get an iPhone (I'm with Verizon...had to wait...not my choice!)

When I first synched my iPhone, since 1Password Pro is an iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch app, it was automatically synched to my iPhone without any need to visit iTunes.

If your iPad does not auto-synch Pro, let me know. Regardless, you can re-download it from iTunes, and you will NOT be charged again.

Let me know how it goes.

As Brandt mentioned, if you are still using the same iTunes account that you used to purchase the app originally, you will be able to re-download the current version for free. Unfortunately, it won't look like it's free until you choose to "buy" it and enter your password. You don't have to take our word for it though. Here is Apple's official support document:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519

Another thing you can do to make sure that you won't have to pay for the app again is to try adding it to your Wish List in iTunes. If you already own the app, iTunes will tell you, "You have already purchased this item" and that you cannot add it to your Wish List.

    I hope that helps. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
