On Windows, we support Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. That is roughly 95% of the web browser market share.Flag 0

From DBrown's recent post:
As noted in the "issues and features" topic at the top of this forum, Safari for Windows is on our "short list"
Hopefully being included on that public list gives you more reason to be optimistic than it being excluded. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0 -

What is the point? I checked Stat Owl and the market share for Safari on Windows is 0.46%. It's a waste of time and developer resources. Working on new features is a better choice.

Welcome to the forum, Stan!
You're probably right about the numbers. The logic behind having Safari as "next on the list" is that a decent percentage of 1Password for Windows users also use 1Password for Mac, and a decent percentage of those probably use it with Safari on their Macs, and they would like to use the same tool with the same browser in Windows.
That said, you're also right that it makes more sense for now to focus on new features. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0 -

That's exactly my problem.
I am a Mac and Safari user for my job (Safari being the browser best suited for what I do). But I work sometimes with my PC nettop. And for time saving sake, I'd like to have 1password with Safari.
For info, I am working at least once a week (2 to 3 hours).Flag 0 -
Idariel, welcome to the forum!
Thank you for letting us know that a 1Password extension for Safari would be useful to you. As you've seen, it's on our list of eventual enhancements but, because of the extremely low percentage of the Windows browser market represented by Safari users, it shouldn't be expected soon.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.Flag 0 -
For what it's worth, here's another vote for 1Password for Safari on Windows for exactly the reason DBrown mentioned.
Safari on Windows may have only 0.46% market share, but I suspect that among users of 1Password it would be significantly higher if it were available.
The only reason I use Firefox on my work Windows PC is to get 1Password--which is where I am now--otherwise I'd be using Safari like I used to. Ironically, I was not able to log into this forum using 1Password. It didn't seem to recognize the pop-up login dialog.Flag 0 -
Hi,
Like the others, it's now 1 year that i am looking forward the release which allows us to use password with Safari on PC.
I understand you have others priorities but don't you think that since Iphone, Ipad exist, a lots of people got Safari on their Windows PC ?
Beyond that, today the market share for Safari on Windows is about 5%. Safari and Chrome are now the only one to progress and raise up.
Is it not enough to think about making 1Password working with Safari?
Anyway, i am using it also on my Mac and i still thank you for your great work.
PS: sorry for my english <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_thinking.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(think)' />Flag 0 -
I would love Safari for Windows Support. New features are always great - but I'm evaluating right now on the 30 day trial, and 50 bucks is a tough pill to swallow if it doesn't work with my primary browser. Regardless of total market share, I'd suspect that a greater number of 1password users use Safari on Windows than the market as a whole.Flag 0

I wanted to give a few reasons to support Safari on Windows, reasons that haven't been mentioned before.
1. iCloud bookmark syncing works with IE or Safari, but not Firefox. So the Firefox browser on Windows isn't suitable for heavy iOS/ Mac users since bookmarks aren't synced with their macs or safari on iOS. IE? No thanks!
2. Reading list from iCloud is Safari-only
Seriously, 1password started on mac and not having Safari support is not trivial. One of the moderators pointed this out before. iOS 5 and iCloud makes that even more true today. Safari on Windows has, through its iCloud integration, features not available on Firefox or IE and folks who like syncing bookmarks and reading lists with their iOS device or Mac want to be able to do so on work computers that run windows. And we want to do that securely, using 1password (soon to sync on iCloud I hope!) to protect our passwords. Thanks!Flag 0 -
Thanks, lyckatill.
We understand all the reasons to add Safari to the list of supported Windows browsers, and we intend to add it:
Known issues and feature requests
We've just been trying to explain why it hasn't been done yet (resources) and why we still don't think it's more important than it is (Windows browser usage statistics).
It will be implemented. We don't know exactly when. Be sure to check for updates often (or automatically) and to accept them when they're offered. That way, you'll get the Safari extension as soon as it's ready. There simply isn't any more information than that available.
Thanks for your patience!Flag 0 -
We have released a BETA version of our Safari extension for Windows. It is included with 1.0.9.BETA-236. Please take a look here: File > Preferences (Ctrl+P) > Browsers.Flag 0
