Import passwords from Firefox hangs
in Mac
Hi, I just bought a family license for 1password and I'm really looking forward to get it up and running.
Unfortunately, I'm running into problems using the import from firefox feature. After I select firefox the Important Assistant just spins at "Please wait while passwords are imported from the browser". Unless this is supposed to take a long time, I'm not sure what's up. I've already tried un/re-installing 1password, creating a new vault, and I'm sure Firefox is running and its master password has been initialized.
Any help? Thanks!

Welcome to the forums, jborthwick! I am sorry that you are having this trouble.
A small number of users have reported this sort of problem, but we have not been able to reproduce it ourselves. A fix can be very hard to create (if indeed it is a problem with 1Password and not Firefox) if we can't reproduce it. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_sadsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-(' />
One thing I have seen work once or twice is to simply ensure that all open tabs and windows are closed in Firefox and then try the import. Having more than a single window with a single tab open may just be "voodoo" as it doesn't really make sense as to why that would help, but it certainly doesn't hurt to try.
A more surefire solution is to install the Password Exporter extension. Install that into Firefox and have it export as CSV. You will then be able to import the CSV file using the "CSV or delimited" text format.
Be sure to securely erase the CSV file after you have completed the import into 1Password, as it will contain unencrypted passwords.
I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you at this time, but rather than have you waiting on a future resolution, I hope that works well for you right now.
Please let me know how it turns out.

Same problem here. I have tried with Firefox open or not (it is started by 1Password), with or without open tabs/windows, and I have even removed my master password in Firefox, to no avail!?
It's a pity you guys took the time to develop this feature and it's not useable. Couldn't you access a computer remotely to understand what's wrong (LogMeIn or other)?
Anyway, installing Password Exporter now..Flag 0 -
Welcome to the forums, ogourment. I'm sorry that you are having trouble with Firefox import as well. Please be sure that you have the 1Password Firefox extension installed and it is working properly.
If you need any further assistance, could you tell me what version of OS X, Firefox, and 1Password you are using?
