Feature request: Copy password from browser extension
I sometimes come across sites with... let's be charitable and call them "creatively" implemented sign-in forms <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> that don't work well with tools like 1Password... it'd be a huge timesaver if I could just copy my password for the site directly from the browser extension's menu, rather than having to fire up the app.
A great example of a site like this would be virginamerica.com

That gave me a hearty laugh. Thank you for that. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
There are two parts to the solution here. First, thank you for providing the URL, that is probably one of the best ways to improve 1Password. We love knowing where we can improve so that — well — so that we can improve. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Second, if you hold down the Shift key while selecting a login item from the 1P browser toolbar button in Safari or Firefox, you will be presented with the complete item details. Be careful, though, since it is meant for editing, be sure to press Esc on your keyboard or click "Cancel" when you are done rather than clicking "Save."
Along the same lines, the Chrome extension has a details view where you can quickly view and copy information from the Login item. Click the blue circled arrow to the right of a Login item's name to view the details.
The good news is that the particular site you mention — Virgin America — does work well in Chrome which is making use of our very latest form filling code. In fact, it is one site that I know Dave spent considerable time getting to work properly. (They did not make it easy, but I know he loves a challenge.) So, while we do have a "fix," I do not currently have a time frame for when it will be ported to our Safari/Firefox extensions. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, though. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
You could also give the 1Password extension in Google Chrome a try if you were interested in an immediate solution. I'd love to know how it goes if you do.Flag 0
