Unresponsive GUI and usability issue
Hi,
Just begun to use 1Password seriously after owning it for a long time, and I've just started entering my software licenses for syncing to my iPhone - great time-saving feature!
However, I've noticed that, when I'm on the Software tab, the 1Password window becomes noticeably less responsive when resizing compared to other tabs, and other applications' windows in general. As you'll see from my sig, GUI responsiveness really shouldn't be an issue <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> Scrolling the Software license list is also more jerky and less smooth than elsewhere in 1Password. Can anyone suggest a reason and a fix?
Also, I've noticed a remarkably unintuitive GUI effect: when you decrease the size of the 1Password application window using the bottom-right corner and pulling it to the left, the item information column (ie. the right-most one that displays the contents of an item in the Software list etc.) remains a fixed size, and the middle column (ie. the one containing the item list) compresses. However, if you pull the corner back, to re-expand the window, the middle column remains compressed and instead the right-most column stretches! Is this an Apple bug or a 1Password error?
Many thanks,
S.

Welcome to the forums, sirgad!
Thanks for using 1Password. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
This is the first I have ever heard of Software license list scrolling performance issues. I can't imagine it would have any effect, but have you tried toggling "Disable Animations" (Preferences > Advanced)? It should only affect the lock/unlock animations as far as I know, but there seems to also be a connection to the graphics switching in newer MacBook Pros. It wouldn't hurt to toggle it off and on and see if performance is any different either way.
To help us track down the issue more quickly, could you please email us your Diagnostics Report? To generate the report from 1Password on your Mac, open 1Password and select Help > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics Report. Then attach the entire file to an email to support@agilebits.com.
Please include a link to this thread in order that we might more quickly "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

We are working on some improvements to the UI, and we appreciate your feedback with regard to the resizing. This bugs me from time to time as well.
For both issues, I know it is not a "solution" but consider Traditional layout (View > Layout > Traditional) in the mean time.
Please let me know how my above suggestion turns out and if you have sent in a Diagnostics Report.
