Switching from Wi-Fi syncing to Dropbox

I was using WiFi sync when I setup my iPhone (Dropbox wasn't installed on iPhone yet).

I've got my records on both desktop v3 (Mac) and iPhone 4.

I switched off wifi sync in the iPhone settings of 1PW and turned on Dropbox, which I use to sync our desktop machines with the family-pack of 1PW already.

It found several thousand updated records and began syncing, but reported errors like this.

Detected conflict for Documents To Go. Creating a new conflict copy on Dropbox.

When I open my desktop app, I don't see and duplicates, and i don't see an duplicates on the iPhone version.

Is this 'normal' when switching from wifi sync to Dropbox sync and should i just let it run through until both are in sync?

Any proper ways to switch from one sync to the other?

1Password for Mac should automatically detect any sync conflicts, but if you wish to manually invoke it you can (Help > Tools > Find and Resolve Sync Conflicts).

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Thanks!

So it's safe just to ignore those messages on the phone, let everything re-sync on the iPhone, and things should be good?

It certainly can't hurt to make a backup in 1Password for Mac (File > Backup Data File) before proceeding, but everything you describe sounds completely normal to me. 1Password also makes backups of your data file every day by default, so you should have at least a couple safety nets already. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

Please let me know how it turns out or if you have any further questions.

    Cheers,

Just finished the transfer to DropBox on the iPhone. Added text on the Mac version and it was updated on the iPhone, deleted that text on the iPhone and all in is sync. Very happy with this workflow.

Thanks for the assurance as I switched sync services.

No problem at all! I am always happy to help make someone's life a bit easier and more secure. I can't imagine going back to manually syncing over Wi-Fi at this point. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
