Multitasking with Lock when Inactive OFF

<div class="IPBDescription">Possible Bug/Feature Request</div>First off, I've been using 1Password on my iPhone/iPad/Windows PC for like 2 days now and I'm absolutely in love with the applications! I've gone through every possible menu/setting and tried everything I read and could think of because I like to see all the features of apps. My only issue has to do with the iPhone version and I will type a new line to make the issue clearer.

iPhone - 1Password Pro - Version 3.5.9

The issue I'm referring to has to do with quick app switching(double clicking the home button) while 1Password is in the foreground. When you double click the home button while the option(located in Security > Auto-Lock) "Lock when Inactive" is set to "ON", you can see the lock screen with the numbers come up above the quick app switching pane. This functions correctly and exactly the same as it does on the iPad version. The problem is this: when the option "Lock when Inactive" is set to "OFF" and you double click the home button, the same blue "Unlock Code" screen comes up except without the numbers. I tested this same procedure on the iPad version and the Ipad does not have the same effect. I believe this to be a bug. The app is very professional looking and while this may not be noticed by a lot of people, I believe every small detail should be addressed. Aside from being an annoyance, the biggest problem for me with it is that it covers what you were looking at. I don't copy and paste to get my password information, I just like to look at it and quick switch and type it in. The correct function such as the way the iPad handles it is better as it lets you see the information while scrolling through the quick app list to find whatever it is you needed the password for.

I'm bringing this to the company's attention because in my eyes it is the only thing holding this app back from being absolutely perfect. I took the time to register and type all this out in hopes that it gets looked into/fixed. I would very much appreciate an email response to this post as I'd really like to just see a status regarding in. I hope that this post helps an already outstanding company.

Thanks, James

Hello James and welcome to the Forums!

I replicated your experience on my iPhone and iPad, and I understand why you would want to see the data vs. a blue screen. Since I don't use 1P on my iPhone in that manner, I guess I never noticed it before.

Regardless, thanks for posting the experience. I suspect it is a hold over from iOS's pre multi-tasking days and was never fixed. However, since it doesn't work that way on the iPad, perhaps it is something else.

I'm sure someone from AgileBits' staff will reply to this thread with a comment. If there is no immediate "fix", at least you've just made an official feature request.

Thanks again for posting. Like you, I'll await AB's response.

    Hey, James!

Thanks for the kind words! I've just replied to your email, but I wanted to respond here as well for everyone's benefit:

Your description was flawless, and I had no trouble reproducing what you described. I think that the iPhone version acts a bit differently here since the iPad version of 1Password lacks the PIN code unlock interface. This does appear to be a UI bug. That said, I can see how it could be annoying to have that pop up when you have Lock when Inactive OFF and you are trying to reference some of your 1Password data visually while switching apps.

I will bring this to the attention of the developers and they will see what can be done.

Thanks again for taking the time to report this so precisely. If there is anything else we can do for you, just let us know. And thanks for using 1Password! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
