Firefox extension in comparison with the Mac version

Hi,

I've tested the 1Password integration with Firefox on the Mac, and it's very impressive;

I tried many different websites and so far I haven't found a website where the auto-filling/saving wasn't working. Great job!

However since I'm intending to mainly use 1Password on windows (for which I cannot easily test for now),

I've been wondering if the integration in Firefox4 for Windows was the same as the one on Mac or if there are known issue specific to the windows version.

The best way to find out how 1Password for Windows will work with Firefox 4 on your Windows machine is to download 1Password for Windows and try it.

When you get access to your Windows machine, install the free 1Password demo version (http://agilebits.com/downloads), then set up the Dropbox sync'ing as described in the following documents.

    The "big picture":
Windows-specific instructions:
You can work with 1Password for 30 days, by which time you should know whether you like it or not. If you do, purchase a license (https://agilebits.com/store). Even then, you have a 30-day money-back-guarantee period.

    I hope that helps, kandjar.

Well the problem is I don't have firefox 4 on my windows machine yet; and my current password manager doesn't work with it either; that's why I tested 1Password on the Mac.

I do like the interface, I like the way it works.

And I was just wondering if I should expect the exact same thing under windows, or if there are known differences.

There are UI differences, but the concept is mosly the same.
  • It's easy and free to install Firefox on your Windows computer, and that'll still give you the best idea of how 1Password works with it.

You can see lots of screen shots of 1Password, including a few of the 1Password extension for Firefox, in the user's guide. The user's guide is available from within 1Password, of course, and on our web site: http://help.agilebits.com/1Password_Windows/index.html

In the FAQ section of the user's guide, please see Why doesn't 1Password for Windows look like 1Password 3 on my Mac? for related information.
  • Sorry for the confusing previous reply I made: I have firefox3 currently <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I cannot easily move to firefox4 (even if I want to...)

I opened the link and that gave me another question:

Is 1password for windows still in beta?

Or even: is the firefox integration still in beta?

    No.

To be precise: We're constantly improving 1Password for Windows, and that process involves multiple Beta builds of each new version. You can use those Beta builds (to more quickly get the benefit of the latest fixes and features) by enabling the Include Beta versions option on the Updates tab of 1Password preferences.

If you prefer not to use Beta builds, you can disable that option (as is the default setting) and use only the non-Beta releases.

I hope that clarifies the issue, kandjar.
