LogMeIn with Fluid 1.0 comes and goes

I upgraded to Fluid 1.0 a few weeks ago and I also run the latest betas if 1P 3.x (I'm at 3.6.0.BETA-40 at the moment). The 1P menubar icon (the Key) seems to come and go at random. For instance - it was there and I used it just a few hours ago in one of my Fluid apps, but just now I went to use it in the same app and the icon and contextual menu are gone. Nothing else had changed - neither the fluid app or 1P had been closed or relaunched during that time. So I quit and relaunched both 1P and my fluid app (for logmein in this case) and still no 1P in the fluid app. I went into 1P prefs and unchecked Fluid, quit and relaunched and then re-checked Fluid in the browser prefs, still no go. I force-quit the 1PasswordAgent and let it respawn, but still no go. "show in menu bar" IS checked in the 1P browser prefs (and the key icon appears in Safari as it always does). This has happened many times before but now it's bugging me enough to ask for help <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Any idea what's going on?

Thanks - Laurie

    Hi Laurie,

I use Fluid all the time but have not noticed this issue. I generally use the keyboard shortcut though, and completely forget the icon is in the menu bar. Does the keyboard shortcut still work even if the menu bar icon is missing? Could you please take a screenshot of your menu bar when it is missing for us? Sometimes if there are too many items up there OS X automagically hides some of them.

I'll keep an eye out for this on my own setup as well.

    Thanks for reporting the problem.

Sorry for the delay - I forget to enable notifications for the topic.

When the icon is gone the keyboard shortcut does not work. I use the keyboard shortcut as well, since I use it dozens of times each day in Safari. But without the icon, there's no way for me to trigger 1P by any means. I just look for the icon to alert me as to whether or not I should bother typing the keyboard shortcut <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I have plenty of room in the menubar - it's not that the icon is hidden, it's that 1P isn't loading at all in the Fluid app.

Of course right at this moment it's there - but I'll be happy to screenshot it next time I notice it's missing so you can see that there's plenty of room across the menubar of this 27-inch display <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Next time it fails to load in Fluid, could you please email us your Diagnostics Report? To generate the report from 1Password on your Mac, open 1Password and select Help > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics Report. Then attach the entire file to an email to support@agilebits.com. The sooner you can generate the report after launching your Fluid SSB and seeing 1Password absent from the menu bar the better.

Please include a link to this thread in order that we might more quickly "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

This issue hasn't resurfaced since I posted, so either the mere threat of a good beating or a beta channel update along the way has resolved it for good. Or maybe 1P just wanted to make me look foolish <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Instead of banging my head against the wall questioning it, I'm going to accept it as a gift and hope I'm in the clear. But have no doubt -- if and/or when it DOES happen again, I'll grab a fresh diagnostics report right away and post it here!

    macsamurai,

Great to hear, and thanks for updating the thread!

Whenever an issue goes away, I don't question it either. No need to look a gift horse in the mouth!

I hope we won't have to hear from you again on this issue. Keep the faith!
