Hello gman_usa and welcome to the Forums!

Would you please be more specific regarding what you wish to do? What is your current setup? Do you have only an iPhone and you want to transfer your data to a MacbookPro desktop version?

I want to be sure I give you the correct procedures for what you want.

I look forward to your reply.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks for the answer.

I currently use 1password on my MacBookPro. I am adding a new "User" to my MacBookPro and would like for him to have access to my 1Password and data. I guess I want to duplicate my 1Password for use with a new "User" on my computer.

I am currently using 1Password Mobile in my Iphone also and it syncs via wi-fi with 1Password on my MacBookPro. Will it also sync with the second "User" when he logs in and opens 1Password?

If you want to "fork" your 1Password data to another Mac OS X account on the same machine, you can copy (not move) your data file to the /Users/Shared folder and then move it from there to the default location in the new account:
~/Library/Application Support/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain
This will create a completely separate copy of the data and all future changes will be independent and not reflected in 1Password from one OS X account to the other.

If you want to keep everything in sync (which it sounds like you do), please ignore everything above and set up Dropbox syncing. First in the existing account and then in the new account. You can also switch from Wi-Fi syncing to Dropbox syncing in 1Password on your iPhone. Dropbox syncing is fully automatic and works in the background from across your living room or across the world. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I can't imagine going back to manually syncing via Wi-Fi at this point. It's like the dark ages. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

  • Thanks for your help.

All devices are set up now with Dropbox sync and everything seems to be working!

Thanks also for putting the information in layman's terms.....I usually get lost very quickly in these forums.

I am glad that everything worked out! It always puts a smile on my face. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I am also pleased to know that everything was explained clearly. I always say, "If you can't explain it plainly, you probably don't actually know it yourself." <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

    Best regards,
