Syncing thru Dropbox with separate sets of data

I have the family license. I need to sync each account thru dropbox. I have it set up and working with the Mac, Ipod and Ipad but only with 1 account at a time. How do I create a separate data file so I can sync the one user account on the Mac to the Ipad and another user account with the Ipod.

Thanks,

Jan

Hello Jan and welcome to the Forums!

At this time, 1Password does not support multiple data files (1Password.agilekeychain) in the same Dropbox account. I've read some interesting theories for workarounds in the Forums, but the conventional wisdom is that you would be rolling the dice.

In my opinion, the best solution at this time is described by Khad in the following post: Multi-User Dropbox Sync?

    In summary, Khad recommends:
utilizing separate Dropbox accounts with separate data files
You would sync one Mac to the iPad with the first Dropbox account and the other Mac to the iPod Touch with the second Dropbox account.

He adds that you may wish to setup sharing between the separate Dropbox accounts for files that you want to share with the other family member. However, please note that when you share a Dropbox folder, the folder size is counted against both user's storage quota: Will joining someone else's shared folder use my quota?

Please take a look at Khad's comment and let me know if this answers your question sufficiently.

    Cheers!
