Move data file to dropbox

Hi,

I am running Mac 10.67

1password 3.59

Dropbox 1.1.35

I just tried to move the data file to dropbox (documents/Dropbox) and got the error:

Exception: Failed to copy to '/Users/Adam/Library/Application Support/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain'

Error: /Users/Adam/Documents/Dropbox/1Password.agilekeychain

What can I do to fix this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, adammc. I'm sorry that you are having this trouble.

When you say you tried to move your data file, did you click the "Move to Dropbox" button in 1Password's preferences or were you attempting to move the file in Finder? It looks like perhaps the error you posted is incomplete. Was there more to the error message than what you posted?

If you could post a screenshot of the error message, that could really help! Please let me know.

    Thanks!
  • Hi,

Thanks for the reply, yes I was clicking the button in 'preferences'

    See screenshot.

Interesting. I don't think I have seen that before.

To help us track down the issue more quickly, could you please email us your Diagnostics Report? To generate the report from 1Password on your Mac, open 1Password and select Help > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics Report. Then attach the entire file to an email to support@agilebits.com. If you can, generate the report right after you click the button and see the error message.

Please include a link to this thread in order that we might more quickly "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, though.

    Thanks!
  • Just worked it out!!

I had 'locked' the dropbox folder a few weeks ago when I was trying to find a way to password protect it.

It seems to be working now after I unchecked (get info) 'lock folder'

Thanks for the update! Locking the folder will definitely cause a problem when trying to write to it. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I am glad everything is working well now.

    Cheers,
