one problem occured which i dont know how to solve:

i have some bank accounts in the wallet that have been created right. instead of routing number it says "BLZ" (like we say in germany).

when i create a new account i dont have the option to create a german account.

how comes?

i use 1password for mac (snow leopard), windows and iphone.

by the way - i love the dropbox sync and the ability to use it on such diefferent platforms! good job!

  • Halo Glenn! Willkommen auf den Foren!

At this time, 1Password uses fixed templates for all Vault types, so it is not possible to customize your entries. However, Custom Templates have been requested by many members, and I know AgileBits is working on a solution for future inclusion in the program. However, I do not have any information regarding the progress or availability for this functionality.

You mentioned that you have some bank accounts in the Wallet that were created correctly. Would you please post a screen shot of one of them?

If you do, Please Remove any Confidential or Personal Information BEFORE posting!

    Danke!

  • hi, as requested here is a screenshot.

as you can see, there are several bank accounts which contain (DE) in the description. i dont know how i created them but instead of "routing number" it says "Bankleitzahl (BLZ)" which is perfect and correct.

but when i create a new account there is no option to choose "DE".

    Glenn,

    Haben Sie vielen Dank!

Apparently, 1Password v. 2.5.8 first instituted German Banking templates, along with templates for several other countries. However, at some point during 3.0 Beta testing, the templates were removed. This fact may explain why you have some entries showing BLZ but are unable to see it in new entries. The following link discussed a similar issue: Bank Branch Sort Code - what's happened to it?

Were the entries showing BLZ saved using an earlier version of 1Password? Regardless, one workaround mentioned in the link implies that you can "copy" a current bank account entry and paste it in the vault. The entry should be copied exactly, so BLZ should be shown in that entry too. If you do not have a lot of entries to "correct", this may be a good "fix" for you until AgileBits determines whether or not to include Custom Templates in the future.

Please let me know if the BLZ entries were saved in an earlier version, and if the copy/paste workaround....works! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

P.S. More evidence that there has been a change can be seen in the two screen shots attached to the following post from Nov 2010: Bank account: German localization not correct

Notice the first pic shows "Routing Number" and the second, older pic shows "Bank Number (BLZ)"
  • i think the entries were created with an older version of 1password. you are probably right.

i used 1password on my windows laptop first (and on my iphone).

i have my mac since about a week ago. thats when i started to use the mac version as well.

the older version might be an explanation.

i am going to test the copying tomorrow and will report.

    thanks a lot!
  • Bitte!

I hope the copy/paste method works for you. Hopefully, custom templates will be available in the near future.

    haben eine gute Nacht!
