Hotmail

I am having trouble getting 1Password to work with my Hotmail account. When I click on the Hotmail icon in Firefox it takes me to the Hotmail logon screen. This screen already shows my Windows Live ID. I click on the Windows Live ID and a password box appears. I enter the password and hit "Enter." At no time does 1Password come up and ask to set up a new Login account.

I also tried clicking on "Sign in with a different Windows Live Id" and it came up with a screen with fields for both Windows Live ID and password. I entered them and again no popup from 1Password.

How do I get 1Password to work with Hotmail?

    Welcome to the forums, Nautiduck!

I'm sorry that you're having this problem. Please try saving the login manually like this:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and choose Save Login.

    3. Set the Action field to Create New Login (or to Replace <login-name>, to update an existing Login item).

    4. Click the Save button.

Using the above technique I was able to save and fill a sample login in Safari at:

    https://hotmail.com

Manually saving a login can be useful for logins that are either problematic to begin with or were once working but have since stopped. Doing this allows 1Password to refresh everything it "knows" about the page. Login pages often change as websites are updated and this can be a necessary but very useful tip. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

For what it's worth, though, autosave is working well for me on the Hotmail login page. 1Password should be prompting you to save the login when you log into Hotmail but 1Password will not prompt you to save the same login twice. So…if you already have a hotmail login with the same password saved in 1Password, you can simply press ⌘\ on your keyboard to fill it when you are on the Hotmail login page.

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Thanks!
