Iphone data unabe to sync how to move to desktop ?
in iOS
Hi All, I am struggle with above for quite some time , below is what I did.
1. I have a iphone it have more then 100 entry , which I want to transfer to windows desktop 1password.
Below is the step I did.
1. Create a new desktop ipassword windows key , I enter 1111 as lock in Pw . I enter 5 password.
2. I set the desktop sync to dropbox.
3. I also create a new iphone key, i also enter 1111 as lock in Pw. Using my wife iphone.
4. Now both iphone and windows desktop have similar data, ( 5 password ) because both sync with dropbox.
5. Now I use my iphone which have 100 entry of password. I did a backup thru wifi. And save the backup on my desktop c:/
6. I restore the step 5 backup using my wife iphone . Now my wife iphone have 100 entry of password. Lock in Pw = 1111
7. Now I expect my desktop windows password should have 100 entry. ( because my desktop sync with dropbox and lock in Pw also 1111 )
my questions is why after my wife iphone is restore from backup file which generate bynmy iphone backup , my wife iphone is unable to sync to dropbox ? Or why the desktop windows unable to sync with dropbox ?
Any step I miss our ?
Hope some one can advise me pls.
Paul

Hi Paul,
I'm sorry for the trouble here, you've certainly chosen an interesting way to go about getting your 1Password data to sync from the iPhone to 1Password for Windows, the backup and restore step really isn't required as your iPhone can just sync directly to Dropbox.
On your own iPhone, you just need to go to More > Settings > Sync > Dropbox and then configure this with your Dropbox credentials, the master password for your iPhone and then the master password for the data file on the PC, which is being stored in Dropbox as we show here:
http://help.agilebit...th_dropbox.html
Because the sync is two-way, the data from your iPhone will be synced with the existing data on Windows, so nothing will be lost by the sync process, you'll have the 100+ items available in Windows and the 5 items you created in Windows available on the iPhone.
If you're also wanting your wife's iPhone to sync with the same data file, you'll just need to reset Dropbox syncing on her iPhone by going to More > Settings > Sync > Dropbox and tap the 'Account ...' label and then tap 'Reset' to setup Dropbox syncing from scratch.
Hope that helps,Flag 0 -
Hi sir,
Many thank for your reply.
From your reply I notice that you pointed out that I don't require to do backup and restore , just sync with dropbox.
Okay let me share with you more detail , in the hope that you can give me better approach to get it work again.
I have use I password about 6 month ago , it work fine on my iphone and iPad . It fail after my dropbox folder password have some problem , Since then my iPad update and iphone update some time can sync and some time cannot sync , and now when I sync it does not display error msg , but in actual fact ihe date is not updated to dropbox ( because when I use my wife iphone try to sync , my iphone update Rec is not sync over )
To the extend that even I try to create new password key also it does not help.
I mean after I create a new password key it work fine , but once I start to sync with my iphone with 100 record it will not work.
So it is possible please share with me another method to make my 100 Rec iphone can sync with dropbox. Seem that my approach not working.
As I don't want to manually enter those 100 Rec , as in case this problem happen again , I will be lost. ( the reasons I like sync with drop box is , all my device can be update , and it have backup in case I lost my iPad ).
So I mean how to make a fresh start of my dropbox ? With out need to manually enter those 100 Rec again.

Hey Paul,
I'm sorry that you are still having trouble. Let's take this one step at a time.
First, make sure that you only have 1 data folder in Dropbox. Normally this is called "1Password.agilekeychain". There should only be 1 folder that ends with ".agilekeychain" in your Dropbox folder. if there is more than one, please check which one you are using in 1Password for Windows (Preferences > General > 1Password Data) and move the other ones out of your Dropbox folder.
Then reset Dropbox syncing on your iOS device(s) if necessary (iPhone/iPad > 1Password > Settings > Sync > Dropbox > Account > Reset) or just enable Dropbox syncing if it has not been previously enabled (Settings > Sync > Dropbox > ON). Your data will merge from 1Password on your iOS device to 1Password for Windows.
I hope that helps. Please let me know how it turns out.
