Keychain Format

Tacitus99
edited June 2011 in Mac
Since I use both Leopard and SL and will probably be adding Lion to the mix, could someone tell me whether the same keychain will work across all OS variants. I'm thinking that I would use 3.5.9 on Leopard with 3.6 on SL and later Lion, but this won't work if the keychain format has altered.

My main OSs are likely to be Leopard and Lion until I save up for a G5 replacement <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

    Hey Tacitus99,

You are fine to use the Agile Keychain Format (the only format used in 1Password 3.x) across Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard, and even Lion.

If you require Tiger support, you will need to use 1Password 2, but the good news is that even the much older 1Password 2 also reads the Agile Keychain Format. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

    Thanks Khad - I thought that was probably the case <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

  • Thanks Tacitus99 for posting the exact same question I had! I hope the keychain format on Leopard on a PowerPC will continue to be supported to the extend it can be used in a mixed environment.
