Firefox 5 doesn't work with latest 1P

I am using the latest version of 1P and Firefox but 1P doesn't work.

The 1P icon displays in the toolbar but when I do a ctrl+\ to invoke the application, the dialog never shows up. Moving into Chrome in the same computer invokes the 1P dialog for the same web sites. Any ideas?

You are not using the latest version of 1P. Version 1.0.6.201 fixes this problem.

  • According to 1P for Windows, I am using 1.0.6.202. I have rebooted after installs as it recommends. About dialog in FF says 5.0.

  • I'm using FF5 & 1Password 1.0.6.202 & Ctrl+\ works fine for me.
  • Latest beta works fine with FF 5
  • Any suggestions on how to debug this?

Are you seeing any errors in the error console? (Shift+Ctrl+J)

    I am seeing an error:

    Error: Components.classes['@1passwd.com/agile1p;1'] is undefined

    Source File: resource://agile1p/global.js

    Line: 58

When I look at the line that this error is happening with, it is:

    this.IAgile1p = Components.classes['@1passwd.com/agile1p;1'].createInstance(Components.interfaces.IAgile1p);

You might want to uninstall (and then re-install) 1Password

I uninstalled and reinstalled and it still doesn't work. Same problem. That error in the console comes up when I hit ctrl, not even when I hit \. Should that make any difference?

Are there any files I can manually remove and reinstall to recreate?

Maybe you did the same as I did. Upgraded Firefox to ver 5, found that 1PW was not compatible. Next thing was 1PW autoupdating to a newer version. I then had a similar situation to yours.

What did the trick here, was to click Preferences in 1PW and then browers. Here Firefox was no longer enabled. I closed FF and checked the checkbox and started FF up again. Then everything was normal again with the 1PW logo in FF etc.

    Hope that helps you out.

I assume Firefox is enabled here, correct? File > Preferences (Ctrl+P) > Browsers. You might want to un-check it, and then press OK. Then go into Preferences (Ctrl+P) again, and re-enable Firefox.

Do you have a file named Agile1pFF.dll here? C:\Program Files\1Password\firefox@1passwd.com\components
  • Thank you SO much for this support. It exactly described my problem and perfectly fixed the issue. This must be fairly common. It took me over an hour of searching to finally find this fix. I suggest 1PW support should make this more prominently visible.

    Hi, flyguy!

In the user's guide, I believe the following documents cover that subject:

Getting Started (see "Setting Up Browser Extensions")

FAQ - Where is the 1P button in my browser?

FAQ - Why doesn't Ctrl+\ work in my browser?
We ask that new users, especially, take a few minutes to read the Introduction, Getting Started, and Tutorials sections of the user's guide. They're short, and they'll give you the information you need to get up to speed quickly. As you use 1Password for Windows, we believe you'll find the FAQ section to be a useful resource, too.
