Safari 5.1 download issue (unrelated to 1Password)
Hi. I have bee waiting for the Lion GM to report this as I have been experiencing the same issue since you released the 1Password's first beta version for Lion.
I can't log to certainly web pages, when I press the 1Password's button in the toolbar it flash for a moment and then nothing. And example, http://www.planetromeo.com/.
Another thing that happens: when you try to download a .ZIP or .DMG file from anywhere, the process bar shows as if it's loading a web page, not a file, but at the end nothing is downloaded. There's a workaround for this, copying the URL to the new Download Manager in Safari manually or with secondary mouse button over the option in the web page, but it's quite annoying. I have try removing the 1Password extension from Safari and it works, I can download again, so it's an issue related to the extension.
Something that I really miss from previous versions: when we call the extension now you have a log window that is nice but you have to press twice to log when in previous versions we were able to log with just one click. I'd like you add the option to log with just one click as we had before.
Thank you in advance and hope this help to improve the new 1Password extension for Safari.
Regards
Antonio

Welcome to the forums, Antonio!
There is a known issue where the Safari 5.1 extension will not load when you click the 1P toolbar button on some sites. I am able to use the keyboard shortcut on that site, but then I also stumble across another issue where the extension only loads inside the frame that has focus. We are working on both these issues, but I don't have a time frame for release at the moment.

I don't think this related to 1Password but to the MIME types configured on the server from which you are downloading. Do you have a sample URL I could test this with?

This is also a known issue that we are working to resolve. Thanks for letting us know you will appreciate the feature when we add it to the Safari 5.1 extension! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

Hi.
Thank you for your fast answer.
About the .dmg and .zip seems it was just a coincidence that I removed 1Password and it started to work again. But now I have tried the same and it even doesn't download. I'm talking about Safari 5.1 (7534.48.3), the one that comes with Lion GM. I will have to summit it again to the Apple's bug reporter as I though it was because of the extensions and specifically about 1Password. Try yourself with http://download.equinux.com/files/web/SongGenie_2.1.1.dmg or http://www.obdev.at/ftp/pub/Products/LittleSnitch/nightly/LittleSnitch-2030-nightly-20110706.dmg for example.
Nice to know that you are working on the other two issues. I like 1Password a lot, I even recommend it to all my customers as I'm a tech consultant because I think is a must in Mac OS X.
Best regards

Hi Antonio,
On behalf of Khad, you are most welcome!
I'm glad it was just a coincidence that removing 1Password "fixed" your issue the first time, but I am sorry that you are still experiencing your initial issue.
I'm running Safari 5.1 (7534.48.3) and Lion GM (Build 11A511), and I was able to download Little Snitch without any unexpected behavior. However, I did receive a permission error when attempting to download SongGenie.
If you are still experiencing the same problems that you first described, I believe your suggestion to file a bug report with Apple is likely the best next step.
Please let us know if we can help you with anything else.
Cheers!
