Cannot get file encryptionKeys.js

Hello! I am new to 1Password. We're using a Mac running Snow Leopard, a Mac running Leopard, and an Android phone syncing together using Dropbox. The two computers are talking together just fine. However, I just downloaded the Android reader and attempted to synchronize to the Dropbox. I'm getting this error:

---------

Using WIFI connection

Begin sync at 11:03:40

Authenticated by user credentials...

Authenticated on server.

Updated access keys

Found 1Password data file

Getting data from /1Password.agilekeychain/

Encryption keys file changed or new, downloading new version...

Cannot get file encryptionKeys.js (404:Not Found). Please try again later.

Error:Missing or corrupted encKeys.js file !!!

Finish sync at 11:03:44

----------

I have searched through the forums for this problem and found a few mentions. All of them call for running a "Repair Keychain" command that I can't seem to find anywhere on my menus or preferences.

    Hello Susan! (or is this Terran?) <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    Welcome to the Forums!

I've passed your issue on to one of our Android experts, but in the interim would you please try rebuilding the 1P data file on your Mac?

To do this, in the 1P for Mac application go to the following menu selection: Help > Troubleshooting > Rebuild Data File...

We have seen instances like yours resolved by using this procedure. Please reply back with your results.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Cheers!

Hello Susan and Terran Rati Lane,

I am sorry to hear about your issues.

It looks like some critical files where corrupted during file transfer from Dropbox server to your phone.

Please, delete a Dropbox folder on your phone's SD card, close 1Password Reader on your phone, relaunch it and try to synchronize your phone with Dropbox one more time.

Once all necessary files are moved to your phone, 1Password Reader will be working fine.

In addition, please ensure that there are contents.js and encryptionKeys.js files located in <%YOUR_DROPBOX_LOCATION%>/1Password.agilekeychain/data/default folder on our computer.

These files are absolutely critical for 1Password to work correctly and are created by 1Password application on your PC or Mac.

Please let me know if you need more info, I will be glad to assist you further.

    Best regards,

    Gene

  • Hmmm. I tried this at the time you sent the message, and it continued to fail. I gave it a couple of days, during which time I noticed a notification from Dropbox that contents.js was being updated after my husband added some scanned documents. Now it seems to be working fine. I really have no idea what I'm talking about, but is it possible that the contents.js file was corrupted (It was in the correct folder) and needed to be regenerated?

At any rate, it looks good now. Thanks a lot!

    Susan

PS: This is a totally different question, but how do I get it to actually display secured data from the viewer? Specifically, wallet information like my daughter's SSN. They're all showing up as dots, which is not going to be useful when I'm filling out forms at the doctor's office. I didn't see an option on the menu.

  • Never mind on the PS question. I figured it out! It wasn't obvious to me, but it's a nifty feature. Maybe it was in the help file and I missed it. Being able to search for text in the help file would be nice.
