Wife recieved free version of 1password, questions about syncing
in iOS
Sorry for the noob type question. My wife received 1password for free during some prize giveaway and wants to know the following:
Can I download 1password on my windows home machine and sync between the two machines?
Do I need to purchase the application separately for each machine I install and sync on?
If not, how do I get 1password to register and leave the 30 day trial mode.
Let me know if that doesn't make sense or if I am not asking the correct questions.
Thanks for your assistance!

Hey there, DFWPhotoguy! Welcome to the forums!
No worries. There was a time when each of us could fairly be called a "noob". And even now, what I don't know about cars could fill volumes.
But I happen to know a little about 1Password!
We license our desktop software on a per-user, per-platform basis, so while both you and your wife may need a 1Password Windows Single license (or Family, if that would be a better fit), it will entitle you to use 1Password personally on as many PCs as you need.
The iOS apps are a bit different, since they are sold in the iTunes App Store, which Apple owns and operates. In that case, the app is tied to the Apple ID/iTunes account, and any devices that are authorized for that account can download it free of charge once it is purchased. My girlfriend and I share an Apple ID, for example, which allows her to enjoy the fruits of my impulsive App Store spending. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />
But nevermind me; check out our Help Me Choose page. While it is still a work in progress, it may help you to visualize just what you may need.
But yes, the free trial is the way to go, so that you can be sure 1Password meets your needs before you make a purchase. If you buy a license, you will just need to enter your registration information into the application to let it know you have purchased it, and this will remove the trial restriction.
And finally, you can use Dropbox to sync your 1Password data between and and all of your devices if you wish. You can find an overview of this in our knowledgebase.
And, as always, if you have any questions at all, just ask. We are always here to help. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Welcome to the forums, DFWPhotoguy!
While you posted this in the iPhone/iPad forum, it sounds like perhaps you wife has a license for one of our desktop versions (Mac or Windows). 1Password is licensed per platform, per user not per machine. What this means is that if you purchase the Mac + Windows Family Bundle both you and your wife can run 1Password on as many Macs and PCs as you can collectively afford. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
I just sent you a PM asking for some more details, though. If you already have a license for part of what that bundle covers, I want to make sure you get the best deal possible.
I look forward to your PM reply!
