Why Buy 1password

<div class="IPBDescription">Need to know</div>I am using the 1password 3 on a trial basis now and I am thinking about buying the full version.

I have a MAC desktop and an Iphone 4 now and I am trying to figure out how much use is 1password.

Can anyone give me a general list of what you use it for and how happy are you with it. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I use 1Password a LOT. I have an iMac desktop as well.

VERY GOOD app. No need to worry about passwords for websites (banking etc). Also have it on the iPhone and it has saved me more than once when I've forgotten a password (I keep a log of key passwords).

Can't say enough about it. You'll never regret your purchase.

It's my most-favorite software on my Mac. I never have to remember passwords for anything (sans 1Password's keychain). And good thing, because all my passwords look like dq:HBoLbB+X6TkX3XcZdP.

Seriously, even if you had easy passwords, it makes logging into websites a 1-second hotkey rather than typing it in. Syncing it with Dropbox helps on multiple computers, too. Their addition of a software key manager has proved awesome, too.

I could go on and on, in short... worth every single penny.

My productivity increase with 1P is truly difficult to quantify...it's that large. I use 1P to store pretty much all the various web logins (from really secure things like bank accounts to pretty trivial stuff, like forum logins). I'm not as paranoid as some, so I tend to use the same password repeatedly for insecure stuff (like forum access), but even then different sites have different requirements for passwords, and trying to remember them is ridiculous.

I don't use 1P too often on my iPhone...it's a bit cumbersome (due to limitations of iOS, not because AgileBits didn't do a good job!), but when I need it, it's invaluable!

I use 1P with Dropbox, which means that all my passwords are "with me" wherever I want/need them. There's even a "1Password Anywhere" feature that can be used to access one's passwords when one is on a remote computer (say, at a friend's house). Sweet!

I first thought 1P was a bit expensive, but in terms of the cost:benefit ration, it isn't at all dear, in my view.

    And, no, I don't own the company! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />
  • Hey camber!

Thanks for the kind words and for the ringing endorsement of 1Password!

I started using 1P well before working for the company, and I felt the same way you do...before and since!

Primarily, I use 1P on my desktop and my iPad, but as you stated, when I need to use it on my iPhone, it is a lifesaver!

I appreciate you adding your opinions, and I'm glad that you are seeing the value of our products as much as many others.

    Cheers!
