Multiple user fields required

I have a bank website that requires two user names plus a password. When I saved it in 1P it shows the two UN and PW but when I go to login

only the second UN and PW is filled in. When I check the box in edit it only lets me have one choice.

Is there a fix that I'm missing in the edit portion?

Thanks! Andy

Hey there, Andy! Welcome to the forums!

I suspect there may not be much we can do since it sounds like both fields are using the same ID, but we will certainly give it a shot! Just let me know what the URL for the site is and I will test this myself.

Additionally, could you tell me what OS, browser, and 1Password version you are using?

Please let me know. I look forward to hearing back from you. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I'm sorry that you're having this problem. Please try saving the login manually like this:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and choose Save Login.

    3. Set the Action field to Create New Login (or to Replace <login-name>, to update an existing Login item).

    4. Click the Save button.

Manually saving a login can be useful for logins that are either problematic to begin with or were once working but have since stopped. Doing this allows 1Password to refresh everything it "knows" about the page. Login pages often change as websites are updated and this can be a necessary but very useful tip. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

If you are still having trouble, please take a look at our "Website Login Issues" guide:

    http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/login_issues.html

Note especially that editing the login to change the Submit value from "If Autosubmit is ON" to "Never" works on a lot of sites which modify the form before submitting it or are looking for a literal key press or mouse click. This will give you the chance to actually give them what they are looking for by submitting the form yourself rather than allowing 1Password to do it on your behalf.

I hope that helps. Please let us know the URL if you are still having trouble.

    Thanks!
  • I am having a similar issue with a bank website that utilizes 3 text boxes for login access

1Password seems to correctly recognize the fields and appears to have the correct information in the field value when in edit mode.

The problem lies in the execution of text box filling:

the UN is correctly placed in the first box but the PW is duplicated into both PIN and PW boxes.

I have followed khad's suggestions without resolution.

    I am running:

    1Password Version 3.6.1 (build 31057)

    Safari Version 5.0.5 (6533.21.1)

Firefox 5.0.1 (both browsers have the same problem)

    OS 10.6.7

    URL: psecu.com

    Thanks for your help!

    Welcome to the forums, bjmmrjshgehas.

I was able to reproduce the problem in Safari 5.0 and Firefox 5.

The good news is that the site does work well in Chrome which is making use of our very latest form filling code, so we do have a "fix," but I do not currently have a time frame for when it will be ported to our Safari/Firefox extensions. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, though. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

You could also give the 1Password extension in Google Chrome a try if you were interested in an immediate solution. I'd love to know how it goes if you do. Just follow the above instructions to manually re-save the login in Chrome. You will need to delete your current login first, but form filling works well at psecu.com in Chrome and soon it will in Safari and Firefox as well.

    Cheers,

Manually saving it helped on one level and now correctly inputs the two fields into the company name and user id. It lost it at the password. So I have to figure out

where it went wrong after that. It might have not update the password since it has to be changed every 60 days although it did work when it wasn't filling in the company ID.

    Here is the website URL:

    Hey Andy,

Thank for providing that URL. I am not able to reproduce any problem saving or filling the sample Login I created to test the page. Could you tell me which version or 1Password for Mac, web browser, and OS X you are using?

I tested in Lion, but the code in Firefox 5 in Lion is the same as it is in Snow Leopard. Likewise for Chrome 12. I also tested in Safari 5.1, but that is not yet publicly available for Snow Leopard. Everything seems to be working well for me here. Did you try deleting your Login before resaving it? I would also recommend trying it in Chrome as I suggested to bjmmrjshgehas. Chrome is using our latest form filling code, so you may have better luck there.

Please let me know how it turns out.

    Thanks!

    I still can't seem to reproduce any problems with the login using 1Password 3.6.1 and Safari 5.0.5 on OS X 10.6.8. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_worried.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':S' />

That said, the Safari 5.1 extension (with its improved form filling) will soon be available for Snow Leopard (and is baked into Lion if/when you upgrade). You can use the latest form saving and filling code right now in Chrome, but otherwise you may need to wait until Safari 5.1 is released. I am not sure how or why you would be having this problem. None of us on the team can reproduce it here in the labs.

I don't want to be a broken record, but please try deleting your existing item and then manually saving the Login fresh from within the browser.

    1. Enter information in all three fields in the login form, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and choose Save Login.

    3. Click the Save button.

If it still fails in Safari, please try Chrome or sit tight until Safari 5.1 is released. The form filling code is completely new in Safari 5.1.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer right now, but please let me know how it turns out.

    Glad it turned out well.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
