Auto-save stopped working at MacHighway Client login

Each time I migrate another client to MacHighway, I add another saved login for the MacHighway Client login page.

For the first time, 1Password 3.6.1 failed to save new login details. I tried both OmniWeb 5.11 and Safari 5.0.5 on Mac OS X 10.6.8.

I was able to manually Save Login.

Update:

I'm having the same problem (no prompt to save login details) for MacHighway cPanel login.

Thanks for passing those URLs along, Ward!

The good news is that autosave for those sites does work well in Chrome which is making use of our very latest form filling code, so we do have a "fix," and it will soon be available for the Safari and Firefox extensions as well. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

You could also give the 1Password extension in Google Chrome a try if you were interested in an immediate solution. I'd love to know how it goes if you do.

    Cheers,

Form filling is not the problem at MacHighway -- it's working fine in all browsers.

I disabled a recent MacHighway login that I'd manually saved.

Then I launched Chrome 12.0.742.122 and manually filled out the Client Area login form. 1Password did not offer to save this login, which is the same behavior I'm seeing in OmniWeb and Safari.

Right. "…autosave for those sites does work well in Chrome which is making use of our very latest … code…"

We have documented some situations that would cause the Autosave function not to kick in:

    http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/missing_autosave.html

Please note issue #2 regarding reusing passwords. Is it possible that this is applicable in your case?

Just enter random information and press Return to see if you are prompted. This is how I know that autosave for those two URLs works well in our latest code.

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Thanks!

Thanks, khad, for hanging in on my Autosave problem. I opened this topic because I thought it might be symptomatic of an Autosave shortcoming. It's only a small annoyance to go back and do a manual Save Login when Autosave doesn't work.

    That Autosave page is helpful.

I reviewed the 13 saved logins I have for the MacHighway Client Area and cPanel login pages. I did have one duplicate password, which I changed ... but that didn't help with OmniWeb, Safari or Chrome.

I've been under the impression that Autosave kicked in only on a successful login. But I haven't really tested that assumption because I'm quite careful the first time I login at a site, and I've had few login failures.

I just used Chrome to login at the MacHighway Client Area using "bogus@bogus.com" and "bogus" as the password. Of course, my login failed. And 1Password didn't offer to save my bogus values.

Since an erroneous login works for you and not for me, it seems likely there's an critical difference between our systems. That's not surprising because I have lots of Menu Extra apps, lots of prefPanes, etc. -- something in my MacSoup may be conflicting with 1Password.

I remembered to check the Console logs for "1password" messages -- nothing showed up in response to my bogus login using Chrome.

I'm content to table further investigation until I encounter an Autosave failure on another site.

Bingo. Thanks for testing that. That should definitely not be happening.

It seems a silly thing, but are you certain that autosave is enabled in 1Password's preferences? Thanks for you patience here. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

"Enable Autosave..." is enabled in 1Password Preferences, which I can verify using the "1P" menu in OmniWeb, Safari and Firefox.

My silly question is, "How do I tell if Autosave is enabled in Chrome since there's no '1P' button?"

In Chome, 1Password uses a key icon for its toolbar button. However, there is no way to globally toggle autosave in the Chrome extension at this time. It uses the global setting which can be toggled in the places you listed: 1Password's preferences and the other extensions.

Can you tell me what version of the 1Password Chrome extension you are using (Window > Extensions)?

My Chrome has precisely the same 1Password extension (3.6.3.30953).

Do you have the autosave issue in the new Safari 5.1 extension? I am trying to reproduce it, but cannot for the life of me do so.

That said, were you able to do a manual save? Apart from the autosave issue, is everything else working as expected with those two URLs?
