Atmail (and other forms): More than 2 input-fields

<div class="IPBDescription">1Password fails with Atmail and (sometimes) with other login-forms</div>Hi!

1Password fails with logins in Atmail. Not only does it not recognize that there actually is a login form, but once you saved your data separately, it inserts the wrong strings into the wrong input-fields. An example:

If I sign in to my Atmail, I have the three fields to fill in:

First part of email (ABC@...)

Second part of email (...@XYZ)

Password
When I use 1Password for that, it ignores the first part-field and uses the ABC in the second field. Only the password is inserted in the right field. What happens is this:

ABC@...

ABC@...

Password
How can I use 1Password with Atmail successfully?

Thank you,

Michael

Welcome to the forums, Michael! I'm sorry that you are having this problem.

Could you please provide the URL for the login page and let me know what version of 1Password, Mac OS X, and web browser you are using?

I would love to take a look at this for you.

    Thanks!
  • Hi khad, and thanks for the welcome!

I am running OS X Lion, Safari 5.1, and 1Password 3.6.1. URL as PM.

    Thank you for your help.

Thanks for sending the URL, Michael. I got your PM and took a look at the site.

I'm sorry that you're having this problem. Please delete your existing Login item in 1Password and then try saving the login manually like this:

    1. Fill out the complete login form, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and choose Save Login.

Manually saving a login can be useful for logins that are either problematic to begin with or were once working but have since stopped. Doing this allows 1Password to refresh everything it "knows" about the page. Login pages often change as websites are updated and this can be a necessary but very useful tip. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

It appears to be filling properly in my testing, but since I don't have an account there, I was not able to confirm autosubmit. Does autosubmit work for you once you manually save the Login? Please let me know.

    Thanks!
  • It works now. Thanks for the suggestion. This seems to be the standard-solution if something does not work, right?

    Anyway... Thanks a lot!

It can often help to re-save a Login. Sometimes the website is changed and the form field names are different. Sometimes the Login folks have saved was saved from the registration page which has different field names. Re-saving the Login from within the browser allows 1Password to refresh everything it "knows" about the page and very frequently gets things working again.

I'm glad it worked out for you! Please let us know if we can ever be of further assistance.

    Cheers,
