Go & Fill Not Working - Safari 5.1 (Snow Leopard)

Hi,

I am very sorry to say that I am finding very frustrating that I cannot show the new shiny extension within Safari to log me in the sites. I am quite lost. Besides when I read that you can use the shortcut (Command + Option + \) I cannot enter the \ because my keyboard puts the º. I am Spanish user, can be that? Previously I was using the (Command + Option + ENTER) keystroke. I changed to other combination but there is no use.

I am a fan of 1Password and every day user of the shortcut Go & Fill. Please, please, please give it me back... <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_crying.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Thank you very much!

Julen

PS: I attach my Login window in the preferences so it helps...

    Having trouble, too.

    1Password version 3.6.1, Mac OS X v 10.6.8 (SL). Safari 5.1.

I can't use the key combination to login to .htaccess protected areas at all.

And is that new interface for real?

Like, before it was, hit the command-backslash combination, and you're in.

Now, there's all sorts of panels and choices.. tell me this isn't supposed to be like this!

This is intact the new interface.

As to .htaccess AFAIK it has not been added to the extension yet. Sorry thats all I can offer at the moment

    You WHAT?

How on Earth can all that window-opening and clicking be better than "command-\ and enter password" (or just command-\, if 1Password's open) ?

Well - I DO hope things will be returned to "command-\", because that's just ridiculous.

People loved 1Password because of that one-key-combo genius simplicity.

No-one's going to like all this.

And "the new interface" doesn't bode well - sounds like someone actually meant it to be like that.

    Sheesh... if it ain't broken....

I am a HUGE fan of the keyboard shortcut myself, and so are any number of my colleagues and our customers. Rest assured that single-keystroke login is a top priority (although, you would be surprised at how many people have never even used it)!

In fact, the old extension was broken by the Safari 5.1 update and Lion, since Apple has decided that scripting additions (such as we were using for our old Safari integration) are simply not allowed going forward. Nobody noticed though, since we've been working hard to have the new extension available when the new Safari came. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

While it is working well now, we still have a lot of work to do before it is out of beta.

Well, over and above the awful new interface with its 'jump-through-hoops' functionality, the Safari extension now often doesn't work at all now (won't log in). To make matters worse, it's intermittent, so it's hard to reproduce with an example.

Furthermore, the Safari extension asks me to save a login, even though the login's already saved in the 1Password application; but for new logins, if I do click save, it doesn't actually save them to the application!

Oh dear. Suddenly, logging into sites with my zillion-and-one passwords using Safari ain't so easy as it was a few hours ago. It's a shame, as the new Safari 5.1 seems even quicker than Firefox (which I'll stick to for the time being).

So, at the end of the day, still is not clear to me if the shortcut works or not? <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_sadsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-(' />

We just pushed out a new beta version of 1Password that restored the "single-keystroke login" functionality. Please give it a try and let me know how it goes for you. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

Scripting Additions, the technology we have been using to integrate with Safari for years, has been removed by Apple going forward. This was done somewhat suddenly at the last moment of Lion's development. We are working as hard as we can to improve the new Safari extension, but we haven't had five years to perfect it yet. I don't think it will take nearly that long to bring it back up to speed with the previous extension, but it will take longer than 24 hours. Thanks for your understanding!

Please ensure that you have disabled Safari's AutoFill.
So, at the end of the day, still is not clear to me if the shortcut works or not?
It should be working properly. Are you still having trouble setting a custom keyboard shortcut? I just set mine to ⌥⌘↩ and it is working on my machine. Is there perhaps a conflict with another shortcut on your system?

Please let me know. I would love to get this resolved for you.

    Thanks!
