Safari 5.1: Autosubmit not working with Go & Fill

Upgraded to Lion with Safari 5.1 today. I've got the 1P plugin working in Safari, but when I select a login using Go & Fill, it isn't auto-submitting the form. It is filling in the fields with my username and password, just not actually submitting the form. Anyone else seen this and know how to fix it?

Thanks,

-Steve

  • Same here. Upgraded to Safari 5.1. However, I cannot use 1PW to login after the upgrade. 1PW menus (menu bar and contextual menus) are no longer present in Safari.

I don't think the menubar icon is functioning yet,

    As to go and fill

Open system pref > keyboards > Universal access > turn off image smoothing.

Go and fill should work then
  • The Go & Fill box appears and fills the login username & password in the proper fields, it just doesn't submit the form.

    you must press return

    http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/keyboard_shortcuts.html

⌥⌘\ (Option-Command-\) – The “Go & Fill” keyboard shortcut opens our extension and take you straight to the “All Logins” tab to search for a Login. After finding the Login you want, pressing Return will open the Login’s URL, fill in your credentials, and log you in. Boom!
  • When logging into the Agile Forums (manually), the extension asked me to input my master password and asked wheter or not I wanted to save the username and password for this site. Something is obviously not right here. All my usernames and passwords are present in 1Password, my Agile username and password included.

I can login normally when clicking the 1P icon in Safari, but my Fill and go shortcut does not work (CMD+@).

So does this mean that the Tags do not work for finding a "go and fill" login, and that I now have to search through all my logins, rather than just the ones under, say, a tag such as "Boating"? That's a big hassle!

Also when I select the 1P extension in the menu bar (or use a shortcut), it always asks for my Master Password, even though I have set this not to in Preferences. Is this right? Thanks

Tags are a no go at the moment, I am anxious for them to come back myself.

As to the PW question I am assuming you have it stored in your OSX keychain. I don't do this and I will need to defer this to someone else who is familiar with this setup. Sorry about that.

This is the way it worked before I upgraded. Now, however, when I search for a login and hit return, it brings me to the login page for the website I selected the login for, enters my credentials in the proper fields, but never actually logs me into the site. I must hit return again or click the login button. Before upgrading to Lion, I searched for the login in go & fill, hit return, and it took me to the page, entered my credentials, and submitted the form to log me in.

  • Hey guys. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

At this time, the Safari 5.1 extension does not support Go & Fill from outside the browser extension. If Safari 5.1 is set as your default browser, it will open the correct page in Safari 5.1, but will not automatically fill the login information. This is a known issue and is something we hope to have working in a future release.

Our new Safari extension is fully rewritten to use the Safari extensions API since scripting additions are not allowed by Apple going forward with Safari 5.1 and Lion. It is currently still in beta, but all updates can be done separately from the main 1Password application now, so we will be able to get new features and fixes out to you even faster.

As for Go & Fill within the browser itself, this should be working. Please try uninstalling and then reinstalling the extension to see if this fixes it for you. Just follow these steps:

    Remove the 1Password extension

Open Safari
Go to the Safari Menu > Preferences > Extensions
Select the 1Password extension
Click “Uninstall”
Close Safari
Reinstall the Safari extension

Open 1Password
Go to the 1Password Menu > Preferences > Browsers
Click the “Install Safari Extension” button
When prompted, click “Install”
Please let me know if this helps. I look forward to hearing back from you. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
  • Reinstalled the extension, but the same issue persists.

I did discover something unusual though. If I go to a login page and use the fill login option (command + \), it fills in the username and password, and also submits the form. It's just the go & fill that does not submit the form.

Thanks for the confirmation, guys. We are investigating the cause and hope to fix this in an update. I apologize for the inconvenience, but the good news is that if you have autoupdate for extensions on in Safari, you won't have to do a thing when we get this working. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I had not previously noticed this myself. It has been a bit of a whirlwind around here lately with the release of Safari 5.1 and Lion. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I don't believe this was a previously known issue, but I will pass this along to the developers since I was able to easily reproduce it:

Selecting a Login from the "All Logins" section in the Safari 5.1 extension (a.k.a. Go & Fill) does Go to the URL and even Fill the information, but you are correct that autosubmit is not triggered in this case.

We will resolve this in a future update, but I can't give a time frame at the moment. For now, you will need to manually submit the form.

    Thanks for reporting this!

No problem...long time 1P user here and was very involved in some early bug fixes during the 3.xx transition...Roustem still owes me a "Master Bug Killer" forum title for figuring out "multiple dock bounce when updating from within Safari" bug... <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />

Anyway...in addition to the autosubmit problems with Go & Fill, there seems to be issues with Auto Submit in general. Even a basic page without a lot of fancy java scripting often fails. Take Greenmountaincoffee.com for example. When using autosubmit, the credential are populated and submitted (when not using go & fill) but the page simply refreshes without logging the user in, leaving you not logged in and having wiped the credentials so the fields are blank. Conversely, if you have autosubmit off the credentials populate and remain until you hit enter and things work fine.

As an aside, until some of these issues settle down, you guys may want to provide some means of communicating extension and app updates, perhaps via a sticky thread that keeps the current versions listed. For example, I noticed that the extension was auto updated, but since my APP was not set to look for beta updates, it broke the whole thing. I had to look for a beta update of 1P.app before the extension b25 would work.

    Hope this helps...

For me, Go & Fill doesn't work at all.

The site loads, but no field is filled. I've tried quite a few which I know worked perfectly before upgrading to Lion. I've already submitted these to support, but here are a couple:

    http://www.am3inc.com/?q=node/19

    https://online.americanexpress.com/myca/logon/us/action?request_type=LogonHandler&Face=en_US&inav=iNavLnkLog

    https://mycheckfree.com

    https://www.wellsfargo.com/

And I've tried Go & Fill a couple different ways (Dock, Safari extension, main app...) - nothing works.

I appreciate the challenges of an upgraded OS and the need for a complete extension re-design.

But at their current functionality (app and extension) I don't have even the most basic features of the program. An Excel sheet would serve me better.

    Edit:

The extension is suddenly working for these sites (all of it: Go & Fill, then Autosubmit), but from the app still does not.

This should be fixed in the latest beta build. Please make sure you are running latest versions of 1Password app (3.6.5.BETA-2 or later) and Safari extension (3.6.5.BETA-26 or later).

    Hey Roustem...

    Nope...still busticated with Beta-2/26 combo.

As I said, with auto submit turned on in prefs and the individual login set to respect that setting, the pages fill some or all of the fields and then seems to refresh the page but not submit. This occurs both with CMD \ and Opt CMD \ The result is a refreshed page with no login or p/w information filled out and you are left in a non-logged in state. I haven't tested this exhaustively, but it consistently works this way on a number of sites...

    Both under 10.6.8

However, with auto submit turned off everything seems to work once you manually hit the enter key.

So...it seems that whatever key-queing mechanism you guys are using to send the <enter> command is not functioning properly...at least under Snow Leopard.

    Auto Trader

    Does Not Work with:

    charter.com

    greenmountaincoffee.com

roustem - thanks for posting a reply.

I upgraded to both versions indicated. Still no success, and it's actually worse if I'm not logged into both the app and the extension.

If I try Go & Fill from the app Safari opens to the URL, no fields are filled and the extension vault pops up requesting the master password.

And a correction to my edit: the extension works IF I first navigate to the URL. Then the extension correctly matches the appropriate login, advance to the login details and select Go & Fill. The fields are filled and autosubmit works.

This is the case for all four URL's I listed.
  • The Doctor
    The Doctor Member
Even when I manually navigate the the non-working URLs mentioned above and then activate 1P extension, the login credentials are filled in but then vanish without me being logged in.

    *sigh*

This should be fixed in the latest update. Please make sure you are using at least 1Password 3.6.5 and Safari extension 3.6.5.BETA-29. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

To manually update the Safari extension, you will need to temporarily disable automatic updates, otherwise, if you sit tight it will eventually update automatically.

Hi Rich! Welcome to the Forums!

I was able to save a Login for the orchardbank.com site, and when I tested it, I was not prompted with recovery options.

I'm running the BETA-30 browser extension, and if you are not, that may have something to do with it.

If you are already running the BETA-30 extension, please try re-saving the login. If that doesn't help, please edit your saved login and change the Submit value to "Never".

We'll figure this one out eventually. Thanks for your patience.
