Where is my post?

Last night I posted my total dislike of the new UI, which had 2 replies.

Today the post is missing?

Are we dealing with a company that censors forum posts???? This practice is completely unacceptable if that is what is taking place.

Tom, my guess is that your posts were merged into another thread to avoid duplicate topics.

Try to go to your page and then click "Find My Content" link.

Thanks... You are right... It was moved. I guess that is good news... At least it means that someone on the staff has seen it <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I have gone from one of your loudest fans to a very unhappy user ... Though I am greatly relieved that the messages are still there and I can only hope this horrible update will eventually work out with fixes.

    Cheers,

We are working around the clock to improve the new Safari extension. Apple made some changes late in Lion's development which forced us to rewrite the extension from scratch. Unfortunately, this means that we have not had five years to work on the new extensions like we have the previous one. However, we just pushed out some updates which resolve many issues.

Could you please try the new Beta release (3.6.5.BETA-3) and see if it fixes this problem? You can do this by going to the 1Password > Preferences window, selecting the Update panel, enable the "Include Beta versions" checkbox, and then click Check Now. Once the update is installed, try again and see if it helps.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thanks... I'll be patient for a bit..

I downloaded the beta and checked the box for future auto downloads.

I'm not sure where I stand now... I'm really confused about the whole thing. Can you point me to an explanation of what the whole extension concept is vs. The old "app" concept? Yesterday, I checked uninstall all extensions and just continued to used 1PW to lookup what I needed and let apple keychain fill stuff that was in keychain.

Before that, I was clicking OK to save 1Pw logins each time... So now I have to go through and figure out what is what... I have 2-4 entries for many Web sites and some of them are not correct ..

I still have the big window pop up and have to click on the arrow to fill logins and then again in the large dialog for the site... "go and fill" does not work, but now it at least will "go" from the 1pw app and then I can fill from the safari menu bar icon.

Basically, I'm lost, so I'm just hoping we "get back to normal" asap <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    Thanks

Go & Fill should be working in the latest beta version. You can double-click an item from within the main 1Password application or select it from the "All Logins" tab in the browser extension. The Option-Command-\ keyboard shortcut will cause the "All Logins" tab to be activated while you are in Safari just like the Go & Fill HUD in the previous version of Safari.

When you wish to fill a login while viewing the login page for a website, press Command-\ on your keyboard or select the login item from the list in the 1P toolbar popover. Clicking the circled > will display the item's details, but if you click on the actual item title the login will be selected and filled.
Basically, I'm lost…
Could you help me understand what trouble you are still having? What steps are you taking? What are you expecting to see? What is actually happening? The more detail you can provide, the better I can assist you. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I would love to resolve everything for you by helping you learn how to do what it is you are trying to do or letting you know if it is not currently possible in Safari 5.1.

    Thanks for your help!

You really are making me a fanboy again... All the work you folks have done now have me back to a "usable" status...

Here is where I stand: I'm still using Snow Leopard (I have one app that is a "must have" for work that won't be updated to handle Lion for a couple of weeks) but I have Safari 5.1 installed.

-- like a dufus, I was confused by the new UI and saved a bunch of duplicate logins (I'll sort through that and eliminate them)

-- until now, I used Safari Keychain actively along with 1PW - I liked seeing the data fill in automatically and usually a "return" keystroke was all that was needed (the 1PW request to save was so much smaller, it was easily ignored). On your Web site advice, I have now unchecked keychain for the time being but I feel less secure not having both apps saving everything (if one ever fails me, the other still has all the data ((in addition to backups))).

-- I'm not a mouse person, and I'm going to spend a little time figuring out all the shortcuts and make some with my shortcut app plus apple keyboard services if necessary.

Sorry for the original rant... I was totally unprepared for the change and it floored me... I would still like to see all the UI stuff a lot less intrusive but that's just me; if everyone else likes it, I can learn to live with it.

It looks to me as though you guys have banged out about half of the posted "wish list" for features and I'm really impressed with that and the way you have posted it so publicly and the fantastic follow up by you personally.

    thanks again,

    Tom
  • Hey Tom,

On behalf of Khad, you are most welcome!

Thanks the kind words, and, more importantly, for your patience while we work through the current wish list...and start working on the "yet to be added" items that will no doubt be added!

No need to apologize for anything. Your surprise at the disappearance of your original comment was certainly understandable!

As you noted, we are all working around the clock to push out fixes and replying to inquiries. I'm glad you are happy to with the service you've received so far! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

    Cheers!
