Autosave bar not appearing for new Logins
Comments

Do you mean autosave? 1Password should be able to automatically save most web sites. We have documented some situations that would cause the Autosave function not to kick in:
http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/missing_autosave.html
Please note issue #2 regarding reusing passwords. Is it possible that this is applicable in your case?
Also, could you tell me what version of 1Password, OS X, and web browser you are using?
Thanks!Flag 0 -
I think what I am talking about is "autosave". This means that when I visit a website, that there should be some kind of popup that does all the work for me in setting up the login.
The version is 1Password I am using is Version 3.6.1, the Safari version is Version 5.1 (6534.50), and I am using Snow leopard as my operating system.
Thank you for your help!Flag 0 -
Did you take a look at the link I posted? Make sure you have autosave enabled (instructions in that link), you are not reusing a password, etc.
You can also save a login manually.
When you log in to a website you have never been to before, 1Password should automatically show the autosave across the top of the web page you are on. Is this not happening for you?

Please let me know. Thanks!Flag 0 -
I am still not seeing the autosave popup. Also, I have just done another 1Password software update to version 3.6.5. Let me just check everything one more time and see if I can get it to work.Flag 0

Just for testing purposes, you can visit a page you have never been to before and just fill in some random information in the login form and press Return. You should see the autosave bar across the top like the screen shot I posted.
Also, can you confirm that autosave is enabled in 1Password's preferences on your Mac?

Looking forward to your results!

ok, i have updated my 1Password software to the latest version. I have also visited a website and changed the password I use for it to a never used before password. I am still not getting the autosave across the top of the web page.
This function was working for me before the last series of one password updates. I don't know what to do. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />Flag 0 -

Is autosave enabled in 1Password's preferences? Can you otherwise use the extension to [manually] save and fill logins?

Yes, autosave is enabled in 1Passwords preferences. But I do not have "auto submit" checked, because I don't like it to auto submit.
In other words, I have the 2nd and 3rd boxes checked.
How do I do a screen shot of a window and then paste that screen shot? Maybe if I show that to you, it would help.
Thanks.Flag 0 -

.......and yes, I was also able to manually save logins.Flag 0 -
This is very odd. The "Save Login" button actually calls the same code as autosave. I'll try to get some fresh eyes on this. Perhaps I am missing something obvious. Thanks for your patience.

What happens when you visit this random page and just bang on the keyboard a bit for your username and password and then submit the form?Flag 0 -

When I go to new websites where I already have an account, I just log in and there is no pop-up asking me to set up my user ID/Password in 1Password. I have not tried it yet today. I will read the below comments and see if any solutions have been provided yet. Thanks!Flag 0 -
In an effort to attempt to narrow down the issue — perhaps it is only a problem on certain URLs — could you please tell me what happens when you visit this particular page and just bang on the keyboard a bit for your username and password and then submit the form?
It sounds like you are not seeing the autosave bar there either, but I just want to make sure. Sorry if I missed your response to that specific question.
Looking forward to getting this resolved for you.

I'm having the exact same problem as the original poster. My setting are the same as his. The autosave popup doesn't show and autosave doesn't work at all. If I generate a password when creating a new login and forget to click "save login" I lose my new password as well, because the newly generated password doesn't show up in my clipboard as it always used to. I'm having a heck of time remembering to manually save, because I haven't had to for so many years.
Going to the website you linked to and doing as you suggest simply gives me an error message from the site. 1Password's autosave feature is nowhere to be found. This is happening on my desktop and my laptop. My desktop is running 10.7 while my laptop is 10.6.8. Both machines are up to date with the latest updates from Apple and you folks, and I've been using 1Password for almost as long as you have existed. I know what I'm doing, (I think <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />
Having long standing 1Password habits with autosave not working has greatly diminished my 1Password joy. Please advise.Flag 0 -
Welcome to the forums, Joe. I wish it was under better circumstances.
I have at least one bit of good news: the generated passwords are always saved in the Generated Passwords section in the main application (Preferences > General > Display in Sidebar > Generated Passwords).
We just released 1Password 3.7 moments ago. Please update and let me know if you are still having trouble. We are not able to reproduce any trouble with autosave here in our labs, but we certainly want to get this resolved for you two. Can you tell me what version of the Safari extension you are using?
Thanks for your help with this!Flag 0
