New Safari, new 1 password

<div class="IPBDescription">autosubmit problem</div>I wish to confirm that 1password (3.61) with Safari 5.1, new extension installed, no longer works with the Charles Schwab website when auto submit is enabled.

Formerly ALL my 1Password websites worked super with autosubmit. Because of the Schwab problem I will lose the autosubmit feature for all the other websites by turning it off...

Not sure if this feature works yet with the new extension, but have you considered editing the login itself to force Auto Submit for that login to "never"

If the extension respects that setting, then you can leave the master set to auto submit and just your Schwab login will require a manual enter...

just a thought 'cause I'm having similar problems...

@rwross: Thank you for making my next suggestion! Until a resolution is found, please follow rwross' advice. That setting has worked for many users in the past.

I'm sorry that I don't have a better answer for you at this time, but please continue to check back for any updates.

    Cheers!

Earlier today I spoke with the Schwab people. They are also working on this.

For those of you who have not found a "way" around this there are some. #1 Use FireFox or if you have a Window Box (or Windows in Virtual Machine) use IE. #2 If you are really tied to Safari, you can open the Schwab Login page, type in your user name and copy your PW from 1PW to the clipboard and than paste into the Schwab login.

I checked with Apple about downgrading from Safari 5.1 to 5.05 and that was not something I wanted to try.

The Schwab people indicated to me they were in the process of setting up Snow Leopard machine using 1PW to test and examine the problem.

The Schwab people stated they have other issues that "appear linked" to Safari 5.1 with regard to On Line trading platforms.

In my experience Schwab has been focused on dealing with such issues. I fully expect it to be solved in the next week - maybe over the weekend.

Turning off the auto submit on just my two Schwab logins works while the others are still on autosubmit. When I spoke to Schwab about the matter, the tech I spoke with never heard of 1 password and told me to contact the makers of 1 password.
  • I am sorry, I was incorrect. Setting the autosubmit to "never" in my two Scwhab logins does not work. I still get an error message about functionality..... Turning off the autosubmit in 1password preferences under the login icon does work but it disables all auto submits globally.

typing my login name and copying and pasting my password in from 1password also works as Gordon Potter suggested. I was already doing that once I found out normal login was not working.

Finally for all the complaints about how 1 password now looks and works, I have to mention that it works precisely the same in Chrome as it does NOW in Safari 5.1. I like the simpler drop down menu but since I do use Chrome I was not shocked to see the new window that people are complaining about.

I am sorry, the per-item autosubmit setting is currently broken. We hope to get it fixed later tonight or tomorrow.
  • I was not super happy with the new look but after updating safari to 5.1 I got the new 1PW look. I have since downgraded back to safari 5.0.5 using time machine and all is good again. I will wait until everything is super smooth.

Per-item autosubmit is working again and we are cranking out updates very quickly (sometimes multiple in a day). <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

For an update, please take a look at our latest blog post.

This is actually quite bothersome to be putting out multiple updates in a day. Why not simply get a Quality Assurance team to do your testing instead of us?

Like others I'm downgrading my Safari back a version until you guys get this fixed.

    Thanks for the update, Kelly!

We have a QA team. Some folks would rather have an extension that isn't yet fully-featured than no extension, though. Please feel free to continue to use a version that you are comfortable with.

If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

We are always here to help!
