Laptop died... master password won't work from android

My MBP had a minor graphic chip issue that has rendered it useless. It is on it's way to the repair depot. My 1password keychain was on dropbox and everything was okay. This morning, trying to access the keychain via the android app was partially alright - I could log in with my master password but when I viewed a saved password, the app told me I couldn't access the data. I then brought down 1password on my wife's mac and brought over the backup keychain from a backup of my MBP. Now, I cannot access anything with the correct master password.



Any suggestions?

Mac OS X 10.6.8

Safari Version 5.1 (6534.50)



Android app 1.8.1.1

I am sorry to hear of your troubles. It sounds like a similar hardware issue I had with my MacBook Pro a few months ago. You don't know what you had until it is gone. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />



The issue you describe is strange, and I am trying to wrap my head around what may have happened to cause it. If I am understanding correctly, you accessed your data on your wife's computer, so you have backups of it at least. Did you change your Master Password at some point, so that the backup you restored from needs a different one? If you have multiple backups saved, perhaps you could try a different one.



I think it might be best if you contacted us via email, as this sounds like it could be a complex issue. Could you please send us a Diagnostics Report? You can generate one in 1Password on your Mac by going to Help > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics Report... Just attach this to an email (support@agilebits.com), and be sure to include a link to this thread as it will help us understand the problem better.

Hello hcubed,



I am sorry to hear about your issue, I suggest you to exit 1Password completely and restart it and than try to Login with the new password.

There is absolutely no difference on which computer your 1Password keychain is located, so if your Master Password is valid, you will be able to Login.



If this approach still doesn't work for you, please goto Settings->Applications->1Password Reader, use Clear Data. Next, delete Dropbox folder from your phone's SD card

Start 1Password, connect to Dropbox and do fresh sync.Once sync is completed, you will be able to Login providing your master password used for 1Password on your computer

is valid.
