synch iphone to macbook pro

by following the steps toward synchronization i arrive at the 1password window displaying my iphone and the button 'sync now'.



clicking on 'sync now' has no effect; nothing happens.



i expect that action to open the window asking for the secret numbers from the iphone app, but that does not happen.



i am stuck midstream.



any suggestions?
