Feature Request: Include subdomains when matching URLs

Hi,

so when you locked down the original thread I decided to create new one, because I'm still facing issue with matching domains correctly in new extension for Safari 5.1. I have problem with feature which worked and work correctly on Safari 5.0.x, Chrome and FF. I have saved form in 1Password for http://domain.tld and I'm not able to see the login for http://admin.domain.tld or http://mail.domain.tld until I change the form in Password to exactly match the domain.

I think that this is a serious problem and I'm complaining about it since my first installation of the new extension, but so far I have not received an answer. I would like to know if this is a feature or a bug and if I have to reckon with the fact that this problem will be removed. Or should I start to edit url in forms that they match features/possibilities of the new extension?

Thanks for answer.

Thanks for starting this new thread, mgi! It is really difficult to address each issue individually in those long threads. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

The URL matching in the Safari 5.1 extension has been completely rewritten. At the moment, this is working as designed since different subdomains are often completely different sites. That said, we are looking at "Linked Accounts" to allow you to use the same credentials across multiple URLs. I don't have a time frame for this, but you may need to edit the URLs or re-save your existing Logins in the mean time.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you at this time, but please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns!

    Cheers,

    Hi Khad,

thank you for info. I hope this is just a temporary solution as this works fine in Chrome, so I'm wondering why it would not in Safar. In Chrome I'm browsing in the same style as in Safari and I don't see a reason to complicating this with "linked accounts".

P.S.: I also don't agree with "different subdomains are often completely different sites". They are some times, but not often, so really see no reason for such behavior.

    Hi,

I have the same problem. I have saved the bookmark in Safari as www.domain.tld and in 1pass as domain.tld and it's not working. :/

I agree with mgi and I hope this will be "fixed" soon.

    Welcome to the forums, egro!

Thanks for adding your voice to the discussion. In the mean time, consider creating a duplicate item in 1Password. Simply select the Login and press Command-D on your keyboard. You can then edit the domain to take this into account.

We are working to improve the situation, but I hope that works for now.

If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.
