Where is the Menu bar Key icon?
in Mac
<div class="IPBDescription">Key icon worked better than Safari 1P extension but now its gone.</div>Both my menu bar 1password key button and my safari extension disappeared after my Lion update. I updated 1Password software as per the FAQs instruction but the option to use the menu bar button seems to be gone from the 1P preferences box. I now have my 1P safari extension back but that method does not work as well on several of my financial sites. The menu bar button always worked with these sites so where has it gone?

Welcome to the forums, minimalist. The menu bar icon is not available in Safari 5.1 or Lion. The form filling between the menu bar icon and the browser toolbar button has always been identical, though. It never made a difference if you used one or the other. There is only one form filling function that was invoked by both. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
We did, however, make some changes to the form filling code, so if you are having some trouble filling a login, please provide the URL. I would be happy to take a look at it.
Thanks!Flag 0 -
This banking site worked before the switch to Lion but now seems to just flash and reject my password autofill which is why I assumed the key in the menu bar worked differently. The username field works fine but once you get to the password field it flakes out. Right clicking is not allowed on this site if that makes any difference.

Thank you!
I do not have an account at Chase but the test login seems to do something right -- I hope that 1Password 3.7.1 will work for you.Flag 0 -

OK. I updated 1password to 3.7.1 (build 31089) and checked for updates to the Safari plugin (beta 3.7.b9 seems to be the most recent). Some autologins now work, some still don't:
www.chase.com - now works properly with autologin
www.mohela.com - works when manually copying and pasting but not with autologin
www.fidelity.com - works only with manual copy and paste, no autologin
www.trustmark.com - works for username but not for password. copy and paste only works with command-V (right click not allowed on this site)Flag 0 -

And upon digging further, the Mohela and Trustmark Autologins both work if you manually enter the passwords and then add them again using the plus sign under the 1P Safari Plugin. But Fidelity refuses to do even this. Manual cut and paste works but after saving them to 1P again they still fail to work under autologin. Oh, and some logins (like Facebook) seem to have disappeared under the 1P plugin but not in the actual 1P software itself.
Every one of these sites worked fine with the previous version of 1P under Snow Leopard. Looks like Lion and the new Safari have wreaked serious havoc on 1Password's operation.Flag 0 -

Thank you very much for your research! We'll try to figure this out asap.
Can you also see if disabling Autosubmit makes any difference on Fidelity? You can do this for a single Login by editing it in 1Password.app and setting Submit to Never.Flag 0 -

Will try. I have noticed that erasing and building a new 1Password login from scratch seems to work on many of these problem financial sites.Flag 0 -

Yes, this can often help. Sometimes old logins are attempting to fill form fields which no longer exist if a site has been redesigned since the Login was initially saved. Saving a new Login allows 1Password to refresh everything it "knows" about a login page.
Please let me know if you are still having trouble with new Logins for those sites and if disabling autosubmit helps.Flag 0
