Feature Request: Folders in Safari 5.1

Hello. I have recently upgraded to Lion as many have. I know alot is different and irritating as with all changes. I recently emailed the company with questions. They replied with answers and used terminoligy that still left me confused. For example: When you open up safari and click on the 1P button on the bar. You enter your password and then you use to get a menu and all you had to do is put your cursor over it and you would see another menu pop up next to it with all of your folders, then you could put your cursor over the folder you want. Lets say you have a folder called emails. If you put your cursor over it you would see the names of them all. Then lets say you have 5 emails. Then all you had to do is put your cursor over the one you want to log into and click it then your done wala your logged in. I really liked that.

Now you get this big box with two tabs at the top. The left tab says (Log Ins for this site) and the one on the right says (All Logins). This is really not a smart layout. For example: the only benefit of the first tab that says (log ins for this site) are if I type in the website in my address lets say Google. If I have Gmail accounts then they appear. This is not a good thing at all, because the whole idea was to not have to enter the websites address in every time and possibly enter a fishing site instead. The tab on the upper right (All Logins) is not good because I have over 100 logins. I have to type in the box for it to narrow down or scroll down the whole list looking. This has become very irritating. Its no longer easy to use. Can someone please tell me if they understand what I am talking about. The feature is still available in the application icon on the Doc to do the Go & Fill. And can someone please tell me if this feature will be brought back to the button in safari and not just in the application icon on the Doc. Thanks

  • I just registrated to say I'm feeling the same!

I liked the usability of the "1P" Button and now it's gone!

Using 1P since 2008 and I'm really nearby saying goodbye to 1Password and work on with alternative applications.

Also I'm frustrated that I recommended it to my friends and family.

I will do the opposite in a few days if you (Agile) stay at your new design.

That's the law of the market that won't stop in front of AgileBits' gates!

(please just read through the forum and listen what your customers say!)

If you are on a phishing site, 1Password will not populate that the first tab with passwords for the site, it would show that there are no logins for it.

Thanks for the feedback, folks! For technical reasons it is impossible to revert to the old extension code. The technology that it relies on has been removed from Safari 5.1 / Lion, so we had to scrap five years worth of code and start from scratch.

Please take a look at our latest blog posts which describe the many updates we have released in the short week since Lion was released. You might also be interested in a sneak peek of the new interface we are working on. That is also available on the blog.

As mentioned in the User Guide, we are working to restore folders to the Safari 5.1 extension.
  • Have to say version 3.7.1.BETA-1 (Build 31085) is much better!

    Thanks for progress!
